Bahwartah ( ar, بحروتة, Baḩwartah, also spelled ''Bhorta'' or ''Bahirta'') is a Turkmen village in northern Aleppo Governorate, northwestern Syria. It is located on the Queiq Plain, between Sawran and Al-Rai, about northeast of the city of Aleppo, and south of the border with the Turkish province of Kilis. Administratively the village belongs to Nahiya Akhtarin in A'zaz District. Nahiya Akhtarin
Akhtarin Subdistrict ( ar, ناحية أخترين, Nāḥiyah Akhtarin) is the easternmost subdistrict of Azaz District in the northern Aleppo Governorate of northern Syria, on the border with Turkey. Its administrative centre and largest town is Akhtarin. Its town of Dabiq is notable for the battle of Marj Dabiq in 1516, and its place in Islamic eschatology. Neighbouring subdistricts are Sawran Subdistrict (northwest) and Mare' Subdistrict (southwest), both in Azaz District, as well as al-Rai Subdistrict (northeast) and al-Bab Subdistrict (southeast), both belonging to al-Bab District. To the north is the Kilis Province of Turkey. At the 2004 census, the subdistrict had a population of 39,385. The Queiq (Modern Standard Arabic: , ''Quwayq'', ; northern Syrian Arabic: ''ʾWēʾ'', ), with many variant spellings, known in antiquity as the Belus ( grc-gre, Βήλος, ''Bēlos''), Chalos and also known in English as the Aleppo River is a river and valley of the Aleppo Governorate, Syria and Turkey. Kilis Province
Kilis Province ( tr, Kilis ili) is a province in southern Turkey, on the Syria–Turkey border, border with Syria. It used to be the southern part of the province of Gaziantep Province, Gaziantep and was formed in 1994. Al-Rai, Syria
Al-Rai ( ar, الراعي, ''al-Ra'i'' or ''al-Rayi''; tr, Çobanbey), is a small town in northern Aleppo Governorate, northern Syria. With 4,609 inhabitants, as per the 2004 census, al-Rai is the administrative center of the sparsely populated Nahiya al-Rai. Sawran ( ar, صوران, Ṣawrān), also spelled Suran, Souran or Sawwaran, is a town in northern Aleppo Governorate, northwestern Syria. Located north of the city of Aleppo, it is the administrative centre of Nahiya Sawran in Azaz District.
