Bahrain Raid Xtreme
Bahrain Raid Xtreme also known as BRX is a rally raid team that participates in the World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC) and the Dakar Rally. History On June 15, 2020 the Kingdom of Bahrain's plans for launching the team were revealed. The team was founded by the Bahrain's sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat Holding Company, which entered a partnership with the British team Prodrive and together they established Prodrive International in a joint venture. BRX is directed by David Richards and Gus Beteli is the team principal. 2021 BRX made their debut at the 2021 Dakar Rally with Drivers Sébastien Loeb and Nani Roma, driving the Prodrive BRX Hunter. Loeb did not finish the event while Roma was 5th in the T1 cars Category. 2022 BRX made their debut in the inaugural World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC). Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company (Mumtalakat) is the sovereign wealth fund of the Kingdom of Bahrain. It was established by Royal Decree in 2006 and is wholly owned by the Government. Mumtalakat actively sought investment opportunities locally, regionally and internationally. In 2022, according to the ''Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute'', the fund has nearly $18 billion in assets under management. Guerlain Chicherit (born 20 May 1978 in Paris) is a French rally and rallycross driver, and a professional skier who was four times world champion in freeriding (1999, 2002, 2006 and 2007). Biography He made his professional motorsport debut in the French Rally Cup driving a Citroën Saxo, and after a successful season in 2003 he became an official Citroën driver. In 2006, after winning the 2005 Dakar Challenge, he attended his first Dakar Rally, driving a BMW X3, and won a stage on his way to finishing 9th in the final classification. In the 2009 Dakar Rally he suffered an accident while fighting in the general classification, and finished 9th. 2023 Dakar Rally
The 2023 Dakar Rally is a rally raid event held in Saudi Arabia and the 45th edition of the Dakar Rally organized by Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO). The event takes place between 31 December 2022 and 15 January 2023. This is the fourth time Saudi Arabia has hosted the event. For the second year running, the event is also the first round of the 2023 World Rally-Raid Championship. The outline of the race route was presented on 5 June 2022. The route was started at a "Sea Camp" near Yanbu, on the Red Sea shore, and will finish in Dammam, at a Persian Gulf shore. The route returns to the Empty Quarter this year with three stages, including the marathon stage. The route will feature 70% new tracks, less liaison, and 5,000 kilometres of special stages.
