Badnaam
''Badnaam'' is a Pakistani film in Urdu language, released on 2 September 1966, adapted from Saadat Hasan Manto's short story ''Jhumkay'' ("Ear-rings") by screenwriter Riaz Shahid, and was the second film adaptation of the Manto's story after 1946 Bollywood adaptation. The film was directed and produced by Iqbal Shehzad, in his debut as a film director. ''Badnaam''s cast included Allauddin (Pakistani actor), Allauddin, Nabeela (actress), Nabeela, Neelo, Ejaz Durrani, Diljeet Mirza, Hameed Wain, Saeed Khan Rangeela, Rangeela and Zumurrud. The film celebrated its Silver Jubilee at the Pakistani cinemas in 1966 and was a box-office hit. The song of the film "Bare Bemurawat Hain Yei Husn Waale" was enormously popular, composed by Deebo Bhattacharya and is of the most prominent song of the singer Suraiya Multanikar. The Nigar Awards are divided in three sections, i.e. Urdu, Punjabi language, Punjabi and Pashto, Pushto film awards. Deebo Bhattacharya (1 August 1930 – 1994), also known as Debu Bhattacherjee, was a Pakistani-Bangladeshi musician, painter and singer who worked in Lollywood movies during the era of 1960s and 1970s. He was one of the well known composers in Bangladesh as well. He is known for composing the classic song, "''Bare bemurawat hein ye husn walay kahein dil laganay ki koshish na karna''" for the film Badnaam (1966). After 1971, he became a citizen of Bangladesh. Allauddin Butt, better known as simply Allauddin (; 2 February 1920 – 13 May 1983) was a Pakistani actor who worked in Pakistani Lollywood movies. His film career spanned over 4 decades. Early life and career Allauddin Butt was born into a Kashmiri family in Rawalpindi, Punjab, British India in 1920. Initially wanting to be a singer, he trained as a musician who frequented the likes of Ustad Alla Rakha, the noted tabla player, in Bombay. Then he met the veteran producer/director A. R. Kardar in Bombay who was originally from Lahore. Kardar encouraged him to try the film world and introduced him to some film personalities. Suraiya Multanikar (born 1940) is a Pakistani singer mostly known for her folk songs especially kafis. Her repertoire includes classical, semi-classical, ghazal, folk songs, kafis and film songs. Early life and family Multanikar was born in Multan, Punjab. Her earliest childhood memories are of wanting to excel as a singer. No one in her immediate family could either teach or advise her. Masood Rana (), (6 August 1941 – 4 October 1995) was a Pakistani film playback singer. He began his singing career in 1962 with the film ''Inqalab'', became one of the top male singers in Urdu and Punjabi films for more than three decades and remained a busy singer until his death in 1995. Riaz Shahid (1927 – 1 October 1972) was a Pakistani filmmaker, film writer, and a journalist.
