Badarpur Thermal Power Plant
Badarpur Thermal Power Station was a Power Station located at Badarpur, Delhi, Badarpur area in National Capital Territory of Delhi, NCT Delhi. The power plant was one of the coal based power plants of National Thermal Power Corporation, NTPC. The National Power Training Institute (NPTI) for North India Region under Ministry of Power (India), Ministry of Power, Government of India was established at Badarpur in 1974, within the Badarpur Thermal power plant (BTPS) complex. The power plant permanently shut down on 15 October 2018. Power plant The Badarpur Thermal Power Station has an installed capacity of 705 MW. It was situated in the south-eastern Edge of Delhi on Mathura Road, New Delhi. It was the first central sector power plant conceived in India, in 1965. Mathura Road, Delhi
Mathura Road is a road in Delhi and a part of the National Highway 2 (India), NH 2 (Delhi-Howrah) Highway. Some of it is part of the Grand Trunk Road passing through Faridabad, and it leads right up to the town of Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, Mathura, in Hindu mythology the birthplace of the god Krishna. Further down the road stand the National Zoological Park Delhi, Purana Qila and Pragati Maidan, which was Delhi's largest convention and exhibition space. ''Down to Earth'' is a fortnightly magazine focused on politics of environment and development, published in New Delhi, India. The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) assists in the production of the magazine. About It was started in 1992 by environmentalist Anil Agarwal, with a commitment to make people aware of the challenges of environment and development and to create informed change agents. Indian environmentalist Sunita Narain, director general at CSE, is the current editor. The fortnightly format was created specifically to supplement the research, analyses and documentation efforts of CSE, also founded by Anil Agarwal in 1980.
