''Bad Newz Travels Fast'' is the only studio album by American rapper and record producer DJ Pooh. It was released July 15, 1997, through Big Beat Records (American record label), Big Beat/Atlantic Records. Recording sessions took place at Digital Shack Studios in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, Sherman Oaks and at the G-Spot Studio in El Monte, California. Hip hop production, Production was handled by DJ Pooh himself, who also served as executive producer, with Rashad Coes, Stealth and Tony G. It features guest appearances from Threat, Mista Grimm, Kam (rapper), Kam, Bad Azz (rapper), Bad Azz, Big Tray Deee, Charlie Wilson (singer), Charlie Wilson, Roger Troutman, Tha Low Life Gangstas and Tee Lee. The album peaked at number 116 on the Billboard 200, ''Billboard'' 200 and number 34 on the Top R&B Albums charts in the United States. The album spawned two singles: "Nowhere to Hide" and "Whoop! DJ Pooh
Mark Jordan (born June 29, 1969), better known by his stage name DJ Pooh, is an American record producer, rapper, screenwriter, and film director. He is perhaps best known for his production work on Ice Cube's 1993 single " It Was a Good Day", which remains one of the most popular songs in hip hop music. He was also part of the musical group Uncle Jamm's Army, as well as the West Coast production outfit L.A. Posse. As a recording artist, he signed with Big Beat Records, an imprint of Atlantic Records to release his debut studio album, '' Bad Newz Travels Fast'' (1997). Lorenzo Dechalus (born September 17, 1968), known professionally as Lord Jamar, is an American rapper, DJ, record producer, actor and podcaster. He is a founding member of the hip-hop group Brand Nubian, which was formed in 1989. In 1996, he discovered Dead Prez and got them signed to Loud Records. EPMD is an American hip hop duo from Brentwood, New York. The duo's name is an initialism for "Erick and Parrish Making Dollars", referring to its members: emcees Erick Sermon ("E" a.k.a. E Double) and Parrish Smith ("PMD" a.k.a. Parrish Mic Doc). During an interview on college radio station WHOV in 1987, Parrish Smith stated that the name evolved from the original: "We were originally known as "EEPMD" (Easy Erick and Parrish the Microphone Doctor), but chose to go with EPMD because it was easier to say." Erick Sermon (born November 25, 1968) is an American rapper and producer. He is best known as one-third—alongside PMD & DJ Scratch—of 1980s/1990s hip hop group EPMD and for his production work. Early life Erick Sermon was born on November 25, 1968, in Bay Shore on Long Island, New York. Career Sermon started professionally in 1986 as a producer and artist of the hip hop group EPMD. He began recording solo albums for Def Jam in 1993; in 1997, he rejoined EPMD. The following year, Sermon, Murray and Redman recorded a cover version of "Rapper's Delight" by the Sugarhill Gang. Malcolm Robert Andrew McLaren (22 January 1946 – 8 April 2010) was an English fashion designer and music manager.
