''Babes'' is the eighth studio album by American band Wavves. recorded in 2009. Although it was intended to be either the band's third or fourth studio album, it was not released officially until September 11, 2023, when it was self-released on Wavves' official Patreon account. History In May 2009, singer Nathan Williams experienced a public breakdown as the band was unable to complete their set at the 2009 Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona. As a result, the band cancelled the remainder of their European tour, and all members except Williams left. Zach Hill would join the band as the drummer of Wavves in mid 2009. They would intensely collaborate in this short time, and an entire album's worth of material was recorded. "Cool Jumper" was the sole single released promoting the album. Wavves is an American rock band based in San Diego, California. Formed in 2008 by singer-songwriter Nathan Williams (born June 12, 1986), the band also features Alex Gates (guitar, backing vocals), Stephen Pope (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Ross Traver (drums and backing vocals). "Post-Acid" is the lead single from Wavves' album '' King of the Beach''. It was made available digitally June 9, 2010 by Mountain Dew's label, Green Label Sound. Patrick O' Dell directed a video for the song, featuring an introduction by John Norris and a cameo by skateboarder Kevin Long as an alien. The video premiered on the Green Label Sound website August 26, 2010. James Lee Lindsey Jr. (May 1, 1980 – January 13, 2010), known professionally as Jay Reatard, was an American musician from Memphis, Tennessee. He was signed to Matador Records. He released recordings as a solo artist and as a member of the Reatards and Lost Sounds. Biography Early life Lindsey was born in Lilbourn, Missouri, on May 1, 1980. He and his family moved to Memphis when he was 8 years old, since his father struggled to find employment in his hometown. His recording career began at age 15, when a homemade demo tape he sent to Goner Records caught the ear of Eric Friedl, Oblivian band member and Goner Records' owner. Lindsey heard Friedl and the Oblivians bandmates earlier that year when they returned home to Memphis as the opening act for Rocket from the Crypt.
