Babel (1999 Film)
''Babel'' is a fantasy adventure film, directed by Gérard Pullicino and released in 1999. The film centres on the Babels, a strange race of trolls who once lived alongside human beings but have been secretly living underground since the Tower of Babel; one day, their map to the secret location of the tower is stolen by a dog who takes it to his human master Patrick Carat (Michel Jonasz), forcing the Babels to team up with Patrick's son David (Mitchell David Rothpan) and David's schoolteacher Alice ( Maria de Medeiros) to recover the map before the evil Nemrod (Tchéky Karyo) can steal it to control the world. Maria Esteves de Medeiros Victorino de Almeida, DamSE (born 19 August 1965), known professionally as Maria de Medeiros (), is a Portuguese actress, director, and singer who has been involved in both European and American film productions. Early life Maria de Medeiros was born in Lisbon, Portugal, the daughter of musician and composer António Victorino de Almeida. She played her first part on screen at the age of 15. At 18, she moved to France to pursue her acting studies and was a student at the CNSAD. Medeiros speaks French fluently and has acted extensively on stage and on screen in French productions. The Prix Iris for Best Cinematography (french: Prix Iris de la meilleure direction de la photographie) is an annual film award presented by Québec Cinéma as part of the Prix Iris awards program, to honour the year's best cinematography in the Cinema of Quebec. Until 2016, it was known as the Jutra Award for Best Cinematography in memory of influential Quebec film director Claude Jutra. Following the withdrawal of Jutra's name from the award, the 2016 award was presented under the name Québec Cinéma. The Prix Iris name was announced in October 2016. Maurice Chevit (31 October 1923 Р2 July 2012) was a French actor. Maurice Chevit made his theatrical d̩but just after the Second World War, and made his first screen appearance in 1946 in Ren̩ Cl̩ment's film ''Le P̬re tranquille''.
