Kuala Terengganu Rovers Football Club, or popularly known as KT Rovers is a Malaysian amateur football club based in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. They currently play in the third-tier division in Malaysian football, the Malaysia M3 League. The club is also involved in the Malaysia FA Cup. History The club founded in 1984 in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu and participated in several competitions in Kuala Terengganu. However, not many records are kept or known. In 2018, the club has won the Terengganu Amateur League and been eligible to compete in the Malaysia M3 League. On 17 February 2019, the club competed in the Malaysia FA Cup for the first time in the club's history. Starting from 2020 season, the team has been rebranded to Kuala Terengganu Rovers Football Club as an effort to bring in local area support. The Malaysia M3 League ( ms, Liga M3 Malaysia) is the third level football league of the Malaysian football league system. The 2019 Malaysia FA Cup (also known as Shopee Malaysia FA Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 30th edition of the Malaysia FA Cup, a knockout competition for Malaysia's state football association and clubs. 2019 Malaysia M3 League
The 2019 Malaysia M3 League was the 1st season of the Malaysia M3 League that replaced the former Malaysia FAM League. Establishment and format This season saw a revamp of the competition's format by the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM). Announced earlier on 24 November 2018 by FAM deputy president Yusoff Mahadi, the format of the new season was outlined in a meeting by FAM's Local Competition Committee and were announced in a media statement on 19 December 2018. The format will be reverted to a straight knock-out tournament format (a format used before 2008), as opposed to the league format used since 2008. 64 teams competed for the FAM Cup, including 6 teams confirmed earlier to participate in the Malaysia FAM Cup, and teams promoted to the 2019 Malaysia Premier League. The Malaysia FA Cup ( ms, Piala FA) is an annual national knock-out football (soccer), football tournament in Malaysia. The cup was first held in 1990. The competition was previously managed by Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), before being transferred to Football Malaysia LLP (MFL) (now known as Malaysian Football League) in the 2016 Malaysia FA Cup, 2016 season. The cup is contested among the clubs from the Malaysia Super League, Malaysia Premier League, Malaysia M3 League and Malaysia M4 League. The preliminary and first rounds are played between the clubs that qualified from the M3 and M4 League. The winners advance to the second round and join the rest of the clubs. 2020 Malaysia M3 League
The 2020 Malaysia M3 League was supposed to be the 2nd season of Malaysia M3 League the third-tier semi-professional football league in Malaysia since its establishment in 2019 before it was suspended and abandoned due to COVID-19. The season started on 7 March and concluded on 17 November 2020. On 13 March, it was announced that the league would be suspended indefinitely, due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
