BSNL Sports Quiz
''BSNL Sports Quiz'' is a weekly television phone-in quiz program in India, running continuously since 2002. Since its inception till early 2019, the program's episodes were hosted/anchored by Dr. Sumanth C. Raman who was also its main ideator. In September 2017, the program completed 800 weekly episodes, continuing to be India's longest running quiz program. Now BSNL Sports Quiz is telecast on Sunday nights on the DD Podhigai satellite channel. The programme is branded and sponsored by Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) Tamil Nadu Circle, with weekly prizes also given by BSNL. In broadcasting, a phone-in or call-in is a programme format in which viewers or listeners are invited to air their live comments by telephone, usually in respect of a specific topic selected for discussion on the day of the broadcast. On radio (especially talk radio), it is common for an entire programme to be dedicated to a phone-in session. On television, phone-in's are often part of a wider discussion programme: a current example in the UK is the "Jeremy Vine" TV show. Yarlagadda Sumanth Kumar (born 9 February 1975), known mononymously as Sumanth, is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Telugu cinema. He is the eldest grandson of Telugu actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao. He is also a partner in Annapurna Studios. DD Podhigai
DD Tamil (formerly DD Podhigai) is an Indian Tamil-language state-owned public television broadcaster founded by the Government of India, owned by Doordarshan. It is broadcast both terrestrially and via satellite. It was established on 15 August 1975. DD Tamil launched its HD version on 19 January 2024. History The channel was first launched as Madras Television Centre (Doordarshan Kendra Chennai) on 15 August 1975 as a South Indian First Television Channel and Indian 5th Television Channel.
