The BSI Challenger Lugano was a professional tennis tournament played on outdoor red clay courts. It has been part of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Challenger Tour. Alex Patricio Calatrava (born 14 June 1973) is a former tour tennis player from Spain, who turned professional in 1993. The right-hander won one singles title (2000, San Marino). Radomír Vašek (born 23 September 1972) is a former professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. Career Vašek was the Czechoslovak national Under-18s tennis champion in 1990, the same year he turned professional. Potito Starace
Potito Starace (; born 14 July 1981) is an Italian retired professional tennis player on the ATP Tour. He achieved a career-high singles ranking of world no. 27 on October 15, 2007. He was a clay court specialist, and was coached by Umberto Rianna. Starace was banned from tennis for life by the Italian Tennis Federation and by the Tennis Integrity Unit for betting offences. Career One of the most memorable runs of Starace's career was when he made the men's doubles semifinals of the 2012 French Open, partnering Daniele Bracciali, before succumbing to top seeds Daniel Nestor and Max Mirnyi. Stanislas "Stan" Wawrinka (; born 28 March 1985) is a Swiss professional tennis player. He reached a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) singles ranking of world No. 3 for the first time on 27 January 2014. Nicolas Devilder (born 25 March 1980) is a retired French tennis player. Devilder reached a career high ATP singles ranking of World No. 60, achieved on 8 September 2008. Luis Horna Biscari (; born 14 September 1980, in Lima) is a former tour professional tennis player from Peru, who turned professional in 1998. Known by his nickname "Lucho", he won 2 career singles titles, reached the quarterfinals of the 2004 Madrid Masters and achieved a career-high singles ranking of World No. 33 in August 2004. Werner Eschauer (born 26 April 1974) is an Austrian former professional tennis player. Tennis career In his first 12 years as a pro, Eschauer found little success, winning just 7 ATP-level matches and cracking the top-100 for just a few weeks in late 2003, peaking at No. 96.
