BSA Supersport Air Rifle
The BSA Supersport is an air rifle produced by BSA Guns (UK) Limited a subsidiary of Spanish manufacturer Gamo and was first introduced in 1986. It is essentially the same rifle as the Lightning, the only difference being that the Lightning has the BSA Volumetric Silencer fitted. It is made in three calibres, , and {{convert, 0.25, in, mm, abbr=on. The mechanics of the Supersport are simple; a spring and piston are compressed by pulling the barrel through 110° before a pellet is loaded directly into the barrel. The barrel is returned to the rest position and locks into place with a detent lock, the rifle is then ready to fire. A pellet is a non-spherical projectile designed to be shot from an air gun, and an airgun that shoots such pellets is commonly known as a pellet gun. Gamo Outdoor S.L.U, or simply Gamo, is a Spanish airgun manufacturer based in Barcelona, Spain, and is the largest producer of airguns in Europe and the largest producer of airgun pellets in the world. Recoil
Recoil (often called knockback, kickback or simply kick) is the rearward thrust generated when a gun is being discharged. In technical terms, the recoil is a result of conservation of momentum, as according to Newton's third law the force required to accelerate something will evoke an equal but opposite reactional force, which means the forward momentum gained by the projectile and exhaust gases ( ejectae) will be mathematically balanced out by an equal and opposite momentum exerted back upon the gun.
