BN Reddy National Award
The Nandi Awards are annual awards presented by the Government of Andhra Pradesh to recognise excellence in Telugu cinema, theatre, and television, as well as lifetime achievements in Indian cinema. The awards are named after the monolithic sculpture of the sacred bull, Nandi, at Lepakshi, a cultural and historical symbol of the Telugu people. The Nandi Awards are categorised into four levels: Swarnam (Gold), Rajatam (Silver), Kamsyam (Bronze), and Raagi (Copper). In addition to film and television awards, the government also presents the Nandi Natakotsavam Awards to honour outstanding contributions in social, mythological, and poetic dramas in Telugu theatre. Telugu cinema, also known as Tollywood, is the segment of Cinema of India, Indian cinema dedicated to the production of Film, motion pictures in the Telugu language, widely spoken in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu
Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu (15 October 1869 – 15 March 1941) was an Indian filmmaker and entrepreneur widely regarded as the father of Telugu cinema. A pioneer of Indian cinema, Naidu established the first Indian-owned movie theatres in South India and founded Star of the East Films, the first film production company established by a Telugu person. He is credited with producing ''Bhishma Pratigna'' (1921), considered the first Telugu feature film, thus laying the foundation for the Telugu film industry. Dil Raju
Velamakucha Venkata Ramana Reddy (born 18 December 1970), known professionally as Dil Raju, is an Indian film producer and distributor, who is known for his work in Telugu cinema. Akkineni Ramesh Prasad (born 30 September 1936) is an Indian businessman and film producer, best known for his role as the chairman of Prasad Studios and Prasads Multiplex. Chakrapani (filmmaker)
Aluru Venkata Subbarao (5 August 1908 – 24 September 1975), popularly known by his pen name Chakrapani, was an Indian screenwriter, film producer, studio owner, and director in Telugu cinema. Bommireddy Nagi Reddi (2 December 1912 – 25 February 2004) was an Indian film producer primarily associated with Telugu cinema, along with notable contributions to Tamil and Hindi films. Boyapati Srinivas, commonly known as Boyapati Sreenu, is an Indian film director, producer and screenwriter.
