BG Karlsruhe is a professional basketball club based in Karlsruhe, Germany. The club currently that plays in the third tier level of Germany, the ProB. From 2003 until 2014 the team played in the Europahalle. After this stint, they moved to the smaller Friedrich-List-Halle. ProB
The ProB is the third-tier level league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 24 teams, separated into a Northern and a Southern Division. Officially, the ProB is part of the '' 2. Basketball Bundesliga'', which consists of the two hierarchical leagues ''ProA'' and ''ProB''. Before the 2007–08 season, the ''2. Basketball Bundesliga'' was a basketball league with the same name, which consisted of two geographical divisions. At the end of the league stage, the winning team of the playoffs in each division, qualify for the ProA, and the teams positioned in 9th place and lower, fight in the play-downs, for the whereabouts in the league. Anton Gavel (born October 24, 1984) is a Slovak-German professional basketball coach and former player. He is a 1.89 m (6 ft 2 in) tall combo guard who primarily played at the shooting guard position. He is head coach for ratiopharm Ulm of the Basketball Bundesliga. He is a four-time Slovak Player of the Year (2005, 2010, 2011, 2012). Tarvis Devar Williams (born January 22, 1978) is an American former professional basketball player. He is best known, however, for making the game-winning shot with 6.9 seconds left that propelled 15th-seeded Hampton past 2nd-seeded Iowa State, 58–57, in the first round of the 2001 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament. Anton Kazarnovski (born January 21, 1985) is an Israeli-Russian professional basketball player for Jazine Arbanasi of the second-tier Prva muška liga. The Basketball Bundesliga (BBL) (English language: ''Federal Basketball League''), for sponsorship reasons named easyCredit BBL, is the highest level league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 18 teams. A BBL season is split into a league stage and a playoff stage. At the end of the league stage, the top eight teams qualify for the playoff stage, and the teams positioned in the 17th and 18th places are relegated to a lower-tier league. The playoffs are played in a " Best of five" format. The winning team of the final round are crowned the German Champions of that season. In addition to the league competition, all BBL teams compete for the German Basketball Cup.
