BC Rilski Sportist ( bg, БК "Рилски Спортист") is a Bulgarian professional basketball club based in Samokov. The team is part of NBL, FIBA Europe Cup, and BIBL. They play their home matches at the Arena Samokov, which has a capacity of 3,000 people. The National Basketball League (NBL) (in Bulgarian: Националната баскетболна лига) is the highest professional basketball league in Bulgaria. The current league was founded in 2008, though the first-tier level existed since 1942 and was previously called the Bulgarian A Division. The games in the NBL are played under FIBA rules. The 2017–18 FIBA Europe Cup was the third season of the FIBA Europe Cup, a European professional sports, professional basketball competition for sports club, clubs that was launched by FIBA. The 2017–18 BIBL season is the 10th edition of Balkan International Basketball League (BIBL). The competition started on 10 October 2017. Competition format Eight teams joined the competition and played a round robin tournament where each team faced the others in home and away games. The top two teams qualified directly for the Final Four, whereas the teams finishing on ranks 3-6 played in additional two-legged playoffs to fill the remaining two places. The 2015–16 FIBA Europe Cup was the inaugural season of the newly formed basketball competition organised by FIBA. The season started on 21 October 2015 and ended on 1 May 2016. The competition replaced the EuroChallenge and had the aim to take the place of Eurocup (organised by Euroleague Basketball), as the second-tier competition in Europe.
