BAYS Center
The Bacolod Arts and Youth Sports Center (BAYS Center) is a multi-use gym located in Bacolod, fronting the Bacolod Public Plaza, in Negros Occidental, Philippines. It is used mostly for basketball, karatedo and boxing matches, and was used in events in the city like the MassKara Festival activities and other government related activities like seminars, business and political gatherings. It was the venue of the UMA-ONEBA and NOKAF Championships in which the Western Visayas athletes participated in sporting events. The gym has a seating capacity of more than a thousand. History Development The local government intended the venue to be one of the venues for the 2019 FIBA World Cup if the Philippines' bid was successful. Though the venue wasn't among the four proposed venues presented to FIBA during the final bid presentation. However the Philippines lost its bid to China's for the 2019 FIBA World Cup hosting. It was planned if the Philippines' bid was successful, the Bacolod City Arena's construction was to commence in 2016 or 2017. The La Salle Coliseum (also called the USLS Coliseum) is an indoor sporting arena located in Bacolod, Philippines.
