BALR. is a Dutch premium lifestyle brand founded in 2013 by ex-professional football player Demy de Zeeuw and internet entrepreneurs Ralph de Geus and Juul Manders. Eljero Elia and Gregory van der Wiel became shareholders, with the latter selling his shares in 2018. De Zeeuw, Manders and De Geus came up with the concept. The brand is known for its iconic designs with the colors black and white. BALR. aims to make the life of a professional football player accessible to a wider audience. Demy De Zeeuw
Demy Patrick René de Zeeuw (born 26 May 1983) is a Dutch former professional footballer who played as a defensive midfielder. He previously played for AGOVV, Go Ahead Eagles, AZ and AFC Ajax. While at AZ he was a key player in the squad that won the 2008–09 Dutch league, the club's first championship victory in 28 years. Following this success he transferred to Ajax, with whom he won the 2009–10 Dutch Cup, and the 2010–11 Dutch league title. Eljero George Rinaldo Elia (born 13 February 1987) is a Dutch professional footballer who plays as a winger. He turned professional at ADO Den Haag and then played for Twente before moving abroad to represent Hamburger SV, Juventus and Werder Bremen. In 2015, he came back to his home country to play for Feyenoord before moving to İstanbul Başakşehir, in 2017. Gregory Kurtley van der Wiel (born 3 February 1988) is a Dutch former footballer who played as a right-back. Born in Amsterdam, Van der Wiel is a product of the AFC Ajax youth system.
