B.J. Whitmer
Benjamin Whitmer (born January 25, 1978), better known by the ring name B. J. Whitmer, is an American professional wrestling producer, professional wrestling trainer, color commentator, and retired professional wrestler. He is best known for his work in Ring of Honor (ROH), where he is a four-time ROH World Tag Team Champion. Professional wrestling career Early career (2000–2005) Whitmer was trained by Les Thatcher and debuted on January 23, 2000, in Thatcher's Ohio-based Heartland Wrestling Association. Whitmer feuded with "Ice Cream Man" Tony B. before forming a tag team with Jamie Knoble in 2002. On May 8, 2002, he won the HWA Cruiserweight Championship by defeating Knoble, Shannon Moore, and Matt Stryker in a four-man elimination match. He lost the title to Rory Fox on August 10. Ring Of Honor
Ring of Honor (ROH) is an American professional wrestling promotion based in Jacksonville, Florida. The promotion was founded by Rob Feinstein on February 23, 2002, and was operated by Cary Silkin from 2004 until 2011; the promotion was subsequently sold to the Sinclair Broadcast Group, and then sold to Tony Khan. Throughout the 2010s, ROH was considered the third largest wrestling promotion in the United States, behind WWE and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, initially operating on an internet distribution model. Shannon Moore (born July 27, 1979) is an American Professional wrestling, professional wrestler. He is best known for his work with World Championship Wrestling (WCW) between 1999 and 2001 and with WWE, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) for several years in the 2000s. Charles Bernard Scaggs (born October 25, 1965) is an American professional wrestler, better known by his ring name 2 Cold Scorpio. Matt Murphy (wrestler)
"All That" Matt Murphy (born 1979) is an American professional wrestler. During his career, he wrestled for numerous promotions, in briefs, including Pro Wrestling Noah in Japan, and held the World League Wrestling Tag Team Titles on three occasions. His career was cut short due to injuries sustained in a car accident, but after he left the wrestling business, Murphy authored the Amazon Kindle autobiography "The Somebody Obsession: A Nobody's Desperate Journey to Stardom". He returned to the ring in 2011 for Kansas City's Metro Pro Wrestling. He then became an employee at a sports card shop in Florida. The IWA World Championship is the major title in the IWA Mid-South based in Louisville, Kentucky. The title debuted at the "Crowning of a Champion" event on April 3, 1997, when Tower of Doom won a twelve-man tournament. There have been a total of 125 reigns among 59 champions and 19 vacancies. Ted Petty Invitational
The Ted Petty Invitational tournament (the TPI) is an independent wrestling tournament in North America, run and promoted by Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South. Created as the Sweet Science Sixteen in 2000 by Ian Rotten, the tournament was originally supposed to showcase the top technical independent wrestlers. After the death of Rocco Rock, Ted Petty in September 2002, Rotten changed the name to honor his friend. The tournament was expanded to 24 participants, with a three-way final, in 2003. Over the years, the tournament has attracted numerous famous independent wrestlers from Mr. Kennedy, Ken Anderson, A.J. Styles to Jamie Noble, James Gibson.
