Accademia Carrara
The Accademia Carrara, (), officially Accademia Carrara di Belle Arti di Bergamo, is an art gallery and an academy of fine arts in Bergamo, in Lombardy in northern Italy. The art gallery was established in about 1780 by , a Bergamasco collector or ' of the arts. The academy of fine arts was added to it in 1794. The school was recognised by the Ministero dell'Istruzione, dell'Università e della Ricerca, the Italian ministry of education, in 1988. An academy of fine arts was added to it in 1793 or 1794, initially under the direction of the Milanese painter Carlo Dionigi Sadis. Giuseppe Diotti
Giuseppe Diotti (1 March 1779 – 30 January 1846) was an Italian painter of the Neoclassic style. Biography He was born in Casalmaggiore. His full name was Francesco Giuseppe Antonio Diotti. He initially was apprenticed in his hometown to Paolo Araldi. As a teenager, until 1796, he attended the Academy at Parma and was there instructed by Carlo Calami. After a few years back at Casalmaggiore, he gained stipends to allow him to travel to Rome, where he was strongly influenced by the academic styles of both Gaspare Landi and Vincenzo Camuccini. He painted in fresco as well as in oil, distinguishing himself as a painter of historical subjects. From 1806 to 1809, he painted, among other topics, the ''Rest in Egypt'', a ''Deposition'', a ''Moses with Tablets'', an ''Adoration by Shepherds'', and ''Moses and the Bronze Serpent''. Trento Longaretti
Trento Longaretti (27 September 1916 – 7 June 2017) was an Italian painter. He studied at the Brera Academy in the 1930s, where he was taught by renowned artists, including painters Aldo Carpi and Pompeo Borra, and sculptors Francesco Messina and Marino Marini. He stated that painting is an "elixir for long life", and continued to paint and exhibit as a centenarian. He was on the fringes of the ''Corrente'' movement started by his friends and classmates in the 1930s to oppose the Novecento Italiano movement that was influenced by Italian Fascism. Achille Funi (26 February 1890 – 26 July 1972) was an Italian painter who painted in a neoclassical style. Biography Funi was born in Ferrara. He studied at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts from 1906 to 1910 and joined the Nuove Tendenze movement as a painter of Cubo-Futurist works in 1914.Cowling and Mundy 1990, p. 106. Having enlisted in the Volunteer Cyclist Battalion and served in World War I, he became a champion of the "return to order".
