''Majajan'' is a 2006 Pakistani Punjabi-language drama film directed by Syed Noor. ''Majajan'' is a love story Syed Noor says he "made most passionately". Inspired by the life of Baba Bulleh Shah and his 'Ishq' with his 'Murshad'. The film was a huge success and celebrated its diamond jubilee at the Pakistani cinemas. The film's success led to the creation of a sequel title ''Zill-e-Shah'', which was released in 2008. Synopsis Zil-e-Shah ( Shaan), an unhappily married man who belongs to the Syed clan, falls in love with a courtesan, by the name of Taari ( Saima) who arrives to perform in his village. A playback singer, as they are usually known in South Asian cinema, or ghost singer in Western cinema, is a singer whose performance is pre-recorded for use in films. Playback singers record songs for soundtracks, and the performers lip-sync the songs for cameras; the actual singer does not appear on the screen. Generally, to synchronize with the emotional situation of the song or complete movie, the playback singer is given the idea of all those so that the singer can interpret by taking the right moves in their vocals. ''Mehndi Waley Hath'' (2000) is a Punjabi-language Pakistani film directed by Syed Noor starring Saima, Moammar Rana and Babar Ali. Mehndi Waley Hath was Syed Noor's unofficial follow up to his 1998 film '' Choorian''. Plot The film begins with a voice over explaining the "cause" of the filmmakers in attempting to expose a "cruel custom"(as the poster said) that exists in the rural areas of the Punjab where women are married off (illegally) to the Quran so that the landowning families do not have to part with any of its wealth by giving the women their share in ancestral property. The action is based around the rural haveli of Vadda Saeen - the family elder, and his wife. They live in their sprawling estate together with the extended family that is usually warring with one another.
