The Azores Senior Open was a men's senior (over 50) professional golf tournament on the European Seniors Tour, held at the Batalha Golf Course in Ponta Delgada on São Miguel Island in the Azores. It was held just once, in March 2008, and was won by Stewart Ginn who finished two shots ahead of Nick Job Nicholas James Job (born 27 July 1949) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Senior Tour. São Miguel Island (; Portuguese for "Saint Michael"), nicknamed "The Green Island" (''Ilha Verde''), is the largest and most populous island in the Portuguese archipelago of the Azores. The tour was branded as the Staysure Tour for the 2018 and 2019 seasons after UK-based insurance company Staysure became the first-ever title sponsors of the senior tour in December 2017. The tour was relaunched as the Legends Tour in 2020, after Ryan Howsam, founder and owner of Staysure, took majority ownership in a joint venture with the European Tour. Stewart Ginn
Stewart Ginn (born 2 June 1949) is an Australian professional golfer. Early life Ginn was born in Melbourne. He grew up behind the twelfth green of the Royal Melbourne Golf Club. Early in his life "he used to caddy at Royal Melbourne." He then moved on to be a golf manager at the club. Professional career In the 1970s and 1980s he won several professional tournaments on the PGA Tour of Australasia and one on the European Tour, the 1974 Martini International. He also played regularly on the Asia Golf Circuit, winning three tournaments, and on the Japan Golf Tour, where he has one win. He won the inaugural PGA Tour of Australia Order of Merit in 1973. In 1979 he won the Australian PGA Championship at Royal Melbourne at 284 (E). He defeated Bob Shearer and Bob Charles by three shots. Nicholas James Job (born 27 July 1949) is an English professional golfer who plays on the European Senior Tour. He has won five times on the tour. Professional career Job turned professional in 1965 and qualified for the 1966 Open Championship as a 16-year-old. He played on the British circuit, winning two age-restricted tournaments, the Gor-Ray Under-24 Championship in 1969 and the under-23 BUA Rising Star Tournament in 1970. The European Tour was founded in the 1970s and Job finished in the top-100 on the European Tour Order of Merit twelve times, with a best ranking of 26th in 1981. His best tournament result on the European Tour came at the 1978 Greater Manchester Open, where he lost to Brian Barnes in a playoff.
