Azmat Saeed
Sheikh Azmat Saeed (; 28 August 1954 – 12 February 2025) was a judge from the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He served the judiciary in various capacities and was part of several significant cases and decisions in Pakistan's legal history. Early life and career Saeed commenced his legal career in Rawalpindi in 1978 following the completion of his LL.B degree. He gained experience by working in different law chambers before eventually establishing his own independent practice in Lahore in 1980. Subsequently, in 1981, he was enrolled as an Advocate of the Lahore High Court and also as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, marking significant milestones in his legal profession. Appointment as Supreme Court judge Saeed was sworn in as a permanent judge of the Supreme Court on 1 June 2012. Broadsheet LLC Scandal
The Broadsheet case, officially known as the ''Broadsheet vs Islamic Republic of Pakistan and NAB'' case, is an ongoing legal case related to the non-payment of service fees to asset recovery company 'Broadsheet LLC' by the Government of Pakistan. Background On 20 July 2000, on the orders of the Attorney General's Office and the then President General Pervez Musharraf, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of Pakistan hired two asset recovery companies, namely the Isle of Man registered Broadsheet LLC and UK based International Asset Recovery (IAR), to investigate and track the illegally accumulated wealth of Pakistani politicians and other influential figures including the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif. Full-court
A full court (less formally, full bench) is a court of law sitting with a greater than normal number of judges. For a court which is usually presided over by one judge, a full court has three or more judges; for a court which, like many appellate courts, normally sits as a bench of three judges, a full court has a bench of five (or more) judges. The expression originated in England but seems largely to have fallen into disuse there, and instead the technical term " divisional court" is used when referring to a multi-judge panel in the High Court of England and Wales. Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry
Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry (; born 12 December 1948) is a Pakistani jurist who served as the 20th Chief Justice of Pakistan over three non-consecutive terms from 29 June 2005 to 11 December 2013. Chaudhry began practice as an advocate of the Sindh High Court in 1976, before shifting to his native Quetta and later serving as Advocate General of Balochistan, Pakistan. He was elected as president of the Balochistan High Court Bar Association, Quetta in 1986 and was elected twice as member of the Bar Council. He was appointed Advocate General of Balochistan in 1989. He also discharged duties as Banking Judge Special Court for Speedy Trials, Judge Customs Appellate Court as well as Company Judge. The Lahore High Court () is a provincial court house based in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It was established as a high court on 21 March 1882. The Lahore High Court has jurisdiction over the province of Punjab.
