Azeemia
Silsila Azeemia (commonly known as the Azeemi Spiritual Sufi Order) is a Muslim Sufi order based in Pakistan with a following in the UK, the US, Austria, Serbia, Russia, Australia, Canada and various countries of the Middle East. The tariqa was started by Qalandar Baba Auliya (1898–1979). Silsila Azeemia is currently headed by Khwaja Shamsuddin Azeemi since 1980. There are more than a hundred Azeemi centres (Muraqba Halls) throughout the world. Qalandar Baba Auliya
Qalandar Baba Auliya ( ur, قلندر با با اولیاء) is the title of the Sufi Scholar and Mystic Muhammad Azeem Barkhiyya (1898 – 27 January 1979), the founder of the Azeemia order of Sufis. He was given the honorifics ''Abdal-i-Haq'' and ''Hasn-e-Ukhra''. One week before his death he told his followers and friends; "I am a guest here for a maximum of one week". He appointed Khwaja Shamsuddin Azeemi head of the order of the Azeemia and died, on 27 January 1979. His tomb is in the Shadman Town subdivision of Karachi. Khwaja Shamsuddin Azeemi
Khawaja Shamsuddin Azeemi ( ur, خواجه شمس الدين عظيمي; born 17 October 1927) is a Pakistani scholar in the field of spiritualism and a Sufi master. He is the current head of the Azeemia Sufi order. He has written books on the subject of spirituality or Muraqaba and is the chief editor of the monthly ''Roohani Digest'' and ''Qalander Shaoor'' in Karachi, Pakistan. Moreover, he has established a chain of fifty-three meditation halls worldwide. Family Azeemi's father was Anis Ahmed Ansari and mother was Umat-ur-Rehman. He is descended from Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, a close companion of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and his host during Muhammad's to Medina. Sufi Order
A tariqa (or ''tariqah''; ar, طريقة ') is a school or order of Sufism, or specifically a concept for the mystical teaching and spiritual practices of such an order with the aim of seeking '' haqiqa'', which translates as "ultimate truth". A tariqa has a '' murshid'' (guide) who plays the role of leader or spiritual director. The members or followers of a tariqa are known as '' muridin'' (singular ''murid''), meaning "desirous", viz. "desiring the knowledge of God and loving God" (also called a ''fakir''). Tariqa is also believed to be the same as Tzadik of Judaism meaning the "rightly guided one". The metaphor of "way, path" is to be understood in connection of the term ''sharia'' which also has the meaning of "path", more specifically "well-trodden path; path to the waterhole".
