Aytakin Mammadov
Aytakin Israel oglu Mammadov ( az, Aytəkin Məmmədov) (29 May 1967, Gadabay, Azerbaijan SSR – December 1991, Goygol, Azerbaijan Republic) — was the military serviceman of Azerbaijan Armed Forces, warrior during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War and National Hero of Azerbaijan. Early life and education Mammadov was born on 29 May 1967 in Gadabay, Azerbaijan SSR. In 1984, he completed his secondary education. He had served in the Soviet Army during 1985–1987. First Nagorno-Karabakh War Mammadov had entered Ministry of Internal Affairs (Azerbaijan) Special Forces in 1991 and was sent to Goygol against Armenian troops. On December, 1991, he was killed in one of the battles around Goygol District. Honors Aytakin Israel oglu Mammadov was posthumously awarded the title of the " National Hero of Azerbaijan" by Presidential Decree No. 264 dated 8 October 1992. Gadabay District
Gadabay District ( az, Gədəbəy rayonu) is one of the 66 districts of Azerbaijan. It is located in the west of the country and belongs to the Gazakh-Tovuz Economic Region. The district borders the districts of Dashkasan, Shamkir, Tovuz, and the Gegharkunik and Tavush provinces of Armenia. The Artsvashen exclave of Armenia is surrounded by the Gadabay District and is '' de facto'' controlled by Azerbaijan, administrated as part of Goranboy District. Its capital and largest city is Gadabay. As of 2020, the district had a population of 109,900. Etymology The former name of Gadabay was ''Getabak''. The Armenian historian of the XIII century Vardan Areveltsi mentions the toponym in the form ''Getabaks''. Düzyurd (also, Dyuzyurd and Dyuz-Yurt) is a village and municipality in the Gadabay Rayon of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 2,091. The municipality consists of the villages of Düzyurd and Ayıtala. The village was founded as an Orthodox Russian settlement named Rozalionovka in the second half of the nineteenth century. National Heroes Of Azerbaijan
The National Hero of Azerbaijan ( az, Azərbaycan milli qəhrəmanı) is the highest national title in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The title was named on 25 March 1992, and the "Qizil Ulduz" Medal awarded as a sign of receiving this title was established by a separate law in 15 July 1992. The law on the title has been in effect since 25 December 1995. It can only be awarded once to the same person. The title is awarded for outstanding services of national importance to Azerbaijan in defence and strengthening of the state system and creation of important national values. Mazahir Rustamov (''Rustamov Mazahir Izzet oglu''; 1960, Baku – 1992, Gadabay District), was a National Hero of Azerbaijan. Early life Vital Rustamov Mazahir Izzet oglu was born on March 2, 1960, in , in an intelligent family. In 1977 he graduated from school # 32 in Nizami district. 1978 entered the history faculty of Baku State University. In 1983 he finished his education with honors diploma. Since 1986 he has been working as a senior laboratory assistant at the Azerbaijan State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering. In 1990, he worked as the head of the Department of Foreign Relations with Foreign Countries at the Ministry of State Press. After Armenian troops lashed out Karabakh, killing thousands of innocent people of the region, Mazahir who was filled with love to his Homeland and placed an intrinsic value on zeal and honor, voluntarily joined the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. Isgender Aznaurov ( az, İsgəndər Söhrab oğlu Aznaurov) (16 August 1956, Bukhara Region, Uzbek SSR, USSR – 18 April 1993, Gadabay District, Azerbaijan) is a National Hero of Azerbaijan, and the warrior of the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Biography Isgender Aznaurov was born on 16 August 1956 in the village of Galaosiyo of Bukhara Province of Uzbekistan into a Turkish Meskhetian family. From 1963 through 1973, he went to a secondary school. After completing his military service in Cherkessk, Ukraine, he was admitted to the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Melioration in 1978 from which he graduated in 1983. After his graduation, he worked in the Ahangaran District of the Tashkent Province.
