Ayhan Songar
Ayhan Songar (1926–1997) was a Turkish academic and psychiatrist. He is also known for his activities in sufism, music, cybernetics and photography. He was part of the conservative think thank Intellectuals' Hearth (IH) and headed the Green Crescent. Early life and education He was born in Gönen, Balıkesir, in 1926. His father was colonel Nazmi who participated in the Turkish War of Independence, and his mother, Fevziye Peyman Hanım, was a niece of Rahime Perestu Sultan who was the spouse of the Ottoman Sultan Abdulmejid I. Songar graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Istanbul University in 1950 and completed his training in psychiatry in 1953. One of his lecturers was Mazhar Osman. Gönen
Gönen is a municipality and Districts of Turkey, district of Balıkesir Province, Turkey. Its area is 1,162 km2, and its population is 74,871 (2022). It lies on the southern part of Marmara Sea. The town is mostly known for its therapeutic hot springs, leather processing and rice production. Üsküdar University
Üsküdar University is a foundation university established in 2011 in Üsküdar, Istanbul, Turkey by the Human Values and Mental Health Foundation under the leadership of Prof. Nevzat Tarhan, who served as the president. The law concerning the establishment of the university was published in the Official Gazette on March 3, 2011, under number 27863. Founded with the title of "Türkiye's first thematic university", Üsküdar University welcomed its first students in the 2012-2013 academic year. In June 2014, the university graduated its first students. The oboe ( ) is a type of double-reed woodwind instrument. Oboes are usually made of wood, but may also be made of synthetic materials, such as plastic, resin, or hybrid composites. ''Hareket'' () was a monthly conservative political magazine which was published between 1939 and 1982 in Turkey with some interruptions. The magazine is known for its support of the Anadoluculuk () approach. History and profile ''Hareket'' was established by Nurettin Topçu, a conservative intellectual, in Izmir in 1939. The first issue of the magazine appeared in February 1939. Its title was a reference to the action theory of Maurice Blondel who was the teacher of Topçu. The magazine was edited by Nurettin Topçu. ''Türkiye'' is a Turkish newspaper owned by İhlas Group. The paper was founded by Enver Ören in 1970 as ''Hakikat'', and was renamed ''Türkiye'' in 1972. Tercüman
''Tercüman: Halka ve Olaylara'' was a Turkish daily newspaper. It was founded in 1955 by Kemal Ilıcak (1932–1993), and associated with the center-right. It was based in the now demolished Tercüman Building. It was temporarily closed down by the military authorities between 11 August and 3 September 1983 when there was martial law in Turkey. Ayhan Songar published weekly columns in the paper between 1986 and 1989. Another contributor of the paper was Nevzat Yalçıntaş. ''Tercüman'' closed after Ilıcak's death, and the name was acquired by the Çukurova Media Group in 1997. Turkish Radio And Television Corporation
The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT; Turkish: ) is the national public broadcasting, public broadcaster of Turkey, founded in 1964. TRT was for many years the only television and radio broadcaster in Turkey. Before the introduction of commercial radio in 1990, and subsequently commercial television in 1992, it held a monopoly on broadcasting.
