Ayas, Aosta Valley
Ayas ( or ; Gressoney-Saint-Jean, Gressoney ; between 1939 and 1945) is a ''comune, comune sparso'' in the Aosta Valley region of northwestern Italy, with 1359 inhabitants in 2010. Geography It is made up of several ''Frazione, frazioni'' (locally officially called ''hameaux'', in French language, French), the two major ones being Antagnod which holds the town hall and the main parish, and Champoluc. All the ''frazioni'' of Ayas were combined under the one jurisdictional parish of Saint-Martin d'Antagnod in 1761. They remained combined in this way until the new parish of Sainte-Anne of Champoluc was built in 1946. The comune of Ayas lies up the Ayas valley from Brusson, Aosta Valley, Brusson. Ayas (club)
The Ayas Nautical Research Club was founded in 1985. The range of its activities includes historical aspects of World and Armenian navigation and shipbuilding, reconstruction of ancient Armenian vessels, study of sea routes, old maps, navigation devices, banners, collecting data on Armenian navigators, making underwater archaeological surveys and research. Since 1985 the Club has organized 15 exhibitions and has carried out several surveys on Armenian navigation. It has restored and reconstructed 26 different types of vessels (rafts, leather boats, log-boats, boats and ships) used in historical Armenia. Members of the Club participate at international conferences on underwater archaeology and nautical history and have published a number of articles. History Of Metallurgy In The Indian Subcontinent
The history of metallurgy in the Indian subcontinent began prior to the 3rd millennium BCE. Metals and related concepts were mentioned in various early Vedic age texts. The Rigveda already uses the Sanskrit term ''ayas'' (). The Indian cultural and commercial contacts with the Near East and the Greco-Roman world enabled an exchange of metallurgic sciences. The advent of the Mughals (established: April 21, 1526—ended: September 21, 1857) further improved the established tradition of metallurgy and metal working in India. During the period of British rule in India (first by the East India Company and then by the Crown), the metalworking industry in India stagnated due to various colonial policies, though efforts by industrialists led to the industry's revival during the 19th century. Ayaş is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Erdemli, Mersin Province, Turkey. Its population is 2,634 (2022). Before the 2013 Turkish local government reorganisation, 2013 reorganisation, it was a town (''belde''). Geography Ayaş lies on the Turkish state highway State road D.400 (Turkey), D.400. It is located 55 kilometers (34 mi) away from Mersin and from Erdemli. Kızkalesi () is a neighbourhood in the municipality and district of Erdemli, Mersin Province, Turkey. Its population is 1,781 (2022). Before the 2013 Turkish local government reorganisation, 2013 reorganisation, it was a town (''belde'').
