Aya Hatakawa
Aya Hatakawa (born 17 August 2004) is a German figure skater. She is the 2021 German national champion. Personal life Hatakawa was born on 17 August 2004 in Düsseldorf, Germany to Japanese immigrants from Kōfu, Yamanashi Prefecture. While in primary school, she moved with her mother to Oberstdorf to pursue skating, while her father and older sister remained in Düsseldorf. Hatakawa travels to visit relatives in Nagoya, Japan every few years. She is fluent in German, Japanese, and English. Hatakawa enjoys listening to music and outdoor activities such as horseback riding. She is interested in becoming in a coach in the future. Nicole Schott
Nicole Schott (born 12 September 1996) is a German figure skater. She is the 2016 CS Warsaw Cup champion, the 2017 CS Tallinn Trophy bronze medalist, a two-time NRW Trophy champion (2014, 2016), and a seven-time German national champion (2012, 2015, 2018–20, 2022–23). She has finished within the top ten at one World and four European Championships. Schott represented Germany at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics, placing eighteenth and seventeenth, respectively. 2021 World Figure Skating Championships
The 2021 World Figure Skating Championships were held in Stockholm, Sweden from March 22–28, 2021. Figure skaters competed for the title of world champion in men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dance. The competition was used to determine the entry quotas for each federation at the 2022 World Championships and was the first qualification event for the 2022 Winter Olympics. Stockholm was announced as the host in June 2018. It was the first time that Stockholm had hosted the World Championships since 1947 and the first time that Sweden had hosted since 2008. The World Championships were the only ISU Championship event held during the 2020–21 season, as the European, Four Continents, and World Junior Championships were all cancelled. 2021 European Figure Skating Championships
The 2021 European Figure Skating Championships were scheduled to be held from 25 to 31 January 2021 in Zagreb, Croatia. Medals would have been awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dance. Zagreb was announced as the host in June 2018. The city previously hosted the competition in 1974, 1979, 2008, and 2013. The competition was cancelled by the International Skating Union on 10 December 2020, due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. This was the first time since World War II that the European Championships were not held. COVID-19 Pandemic In Germany
The COVID-19 pandemic in Germany has resulted in confirmed cases of COVID-19 and deaths. On 27 January 2020, the first case in Germany was confirmed near Munich, Bavaria. By mid February, the arising cluster of cases had been fully contained. On 25 and 26 February, multiple cases related to the Italian outbreak were detected in Baden-Württemberg. A carnival event on 15 February in Heinsberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, was attended by a man identified as positive on 25 February; in the outbreak which subsequently developed from infected participants, authorities were mostly no longer able to trace the likely chains of infections. Nathalie Weinzierl (born 8 April 1994) is a German figure skater. She is a two-time German national champion (2014, 2017) and has won eleven senior international medals, including gold at the Bavarian Open, Dragon Trophy, and Egna Trophy, and Merano Cup. She has placed as high as 7th at the European Championships and competed at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. Personal life Nathalie Weinzierl was born in Saarbrücken, Germany. Kimmy Vivienne Repond (born 18 October 2006) is a Swiss figure skater. She is the 2023 European bronze medalist, a three-time ISU Challenger Series medalist, and the 2024 Swiss national champion. 2020 CS Nebelhorn Trophy
The 2020 CS Nebelhorn Trophy was held in September 2020 in Oberstdorf, Germany. It was part of the 2020–21 ISU Challenger Series. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. On August 25, 2020, the German Ice Skating Union confirmed that Nebelhorn Trophy would be held as scheduled, but without spectators and would include extensive social distancing guidelines and procedures for the athletes and coaches in attendance. Originally scheduled as the fourth event in the 2020–21 Challenger Series, Nebelhorn Trophy became the first to officially proceed as scheduled, after cancellations and postponements of the preceding events due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 2020–21 ISU Junior Grand Prix
The 2020–21 ISU Junior Grand Prix was scheduled to be the 24th season of a series of junior international competitions organized by the International Skating Union. It was intended to be the junior-level complement to the 2020–21 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Skaters would have competed for medals in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance, as well as for qualifying points.
