Axel Peschel
Axel Hermann Peschel (born 2 August 1942) is a German former cyclist. His sporting career began with SC Dynamo Berlin. He competed for East Germany in the team time trial at the 1968 Summer Olympics. Peschel won the Peace Race in 1968. Uwe Peschel (born 4 November 1968) is a German former professional road bicycle racer and a time trialist. Peschel was born in Berlin in 1968. His father, Axel Peschel, had represented East Germany at the 1968 Olympic men's team time trial a fortnight prior to his birth. At the 1992 Summer Olympics, Peschel Jr along with Bernd Dittert, Christian Meyer and Michael Rich, won the gold medal in the men's team time trial.
