Ali Abu Awwad
Ali Abu Awwad (, born 1972) is a prominent Palestinian peace activist and proponent of nonviolence. He is the founder of ''Taghyeer'' (Change), a Palestinian national movement promoting nonviolence to achieve and guarantee a nonviolent solution to the conflict. Awwad's story and efforts have been featured in over twelve documentaries including two award-winning films, '' Encounter Point'' and Forbidden Childhood'. Furthermore, he was honored by the global nonprofit thinktank Synergos as the Arab World Social Innovator in Palestine for "introducing non-violence, reconciliation, and civic participation to Palestinians as a means of empowering citizens to seek social change and find a more equitable solution to conflict." Tawfiq Yusuf 'Awwad
Tawfiq Yusuf 'Awwad (; 28 November 1911 – 16 April 1989) was a Lebanese writer and diplomat. His 1939 novel , inspired by Arab resistance to the Turks in World War I, "was quickly recognized as a landmark in the literary expression of Arab nationalism". His only other novel, '' Death In Beirut'', was similarly well-regarded. 'Awwad also wrote poetry, essays, and plays. He was killed in a bombing in 1989 during the Lebanese Civil War.جبر، ج. Arabi Awwad
Arabi Musa Awwad (1928 – 20 March 2015) (), kunya Abu Fahd, was a Palestinian communist politician. He was a member of the Central Committee of the Palestinian National Liberation League and later the Jordanian Communist Party. Awwad was designated as secretary of the West Bank section of the Jordanian Communist Party after the Six-Day War in 1967 and emerged as a key leader of the Palestinian National Front. He spent over a decade in Jordanian and Israeli prisons and detention centers and was deported to Jordan in 1973. Awwad was elected to the Palestinian National Council and included in the Palestinian Central Council. In 1982, he founded the Revolutionary Palestinian Communist Party and became its general secretary. Judge Tayseer Qala Awwad (born 1943) is one of the former ministers of justice of Syria. Early life and education Awwad was born in Damascus in 1943. He earned a law degree from the University of Damascus School of Law in 1974. Career Awwad is a military judge, the former president of a military court, the president of the judicial inspection department at the ministry of justice, and a member of the Supreme Judicial Council. He was chairman of the commission of inquiry into crimes committed in the shield. Awwad was appointed justice minister to the cabinet headed by then prime minister Adel Safar in April 2011. Awwad's term ended on 16 August 2012, and Najm Hamad Al Ahmad succeeded him as justice minister. The reason for his removal was not stated. Awwad Mohammad Al-Sharafat (; born 25 December 1993) is a Jordanian middle-distance runner. He competed in the 1500 metres at the 2015 World Championships in Beijing without advancing from the first round. His personal best in the 1500 metres is 3:57.71 set in Gwangju in 2015. Al-Sharafat is from Al-Saada, Mafraq Governorate, and he began training in athletics around 2006. He was noticed at age 14 by former runner Khaled Al-Sharafat, and he won gold medals in regional district championships early on. His successes came despite only training three or four months per year, and he went on to win 63 medals and 11 cups in regional competitions.
