Awam (film)
''Awam'' () is a 1987 Indian Hindi-language action drama film directed and produced by B. R. Chopra. The film stars Ashok Kumar, Rajesh Khanna, Raj Babbar, Smita Patil, Poonam Dhillon, Nana Patekar, Shafi Inamdar in pivotal roles. Plot Captain Amar Kumar of the Indian army lives with his father, Ram, and mother, Saraswati. Ram has been associated with top freedom fighters during India's struggle for independence from the British. Almost all of these freedom fighters had taken advantage of their involvement and have taken up important positions in India's administration, and these include Jagratan and Mohanlal, while others like Vehshat Ansari and Ram have chosen not to. Amar goes to Delhi and meets Mohanlal, who offers him the position of personal secretary with Jagratan. Ashok Kumar (born Kumudlal Ganguly; 13 October 1911 – 10 December 2001), was an Indian actor who attained iconic status in Indian cinema. He is regarded as one of the greatest actors of Indian cinema. He is considered to be the first Super-star of Indian cinema as well as the first lead actor to play an anti-hero. Mahendra Kapoor
Mahendra Kapoor (9 January 1934 – 27 September 2008) was an Indian playback singer. In a long career spanning decades, his repertoire included popular songs such as ''Chalo ekbaar phir se Ajnabi ban jayen hum dono'' ( Gumrah) and ''Neele Gagan ke tale'' ( Hamraaz). Gufi Paintal (4 October 1944 – 5 June 2023), also known as Sarabjeet Singh Paintal, was an Indian actor and casting director. Initially trained as an engineer, he joined the Indian Army during the Sino-Indian War in 1962. While on the border, a folk play of Ramlila was conducted in which he performed the role of Sita, from where he became interested in acting.
