Avril Haines
Avril Danica Haines (born August 27, 1969) is an American lawyer who served as the seventh Director of National Intelligence, director of national intelligence in the Presidency of Joe Biden, Biden administration. She is the first woman to serve in this role. Haines previously was Deputy National Security Advisor and Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, deputy director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in the Presidency of Barack Obama, Obama administration. Prior to her appointment to the CIA, she was Deputy Counsel to the President for National Security Affairs in the Office of White House Counsel.
