Avdalen
Avdalen is a small, long side valley located off of the main Utladalen valley in Årdal Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located within the Utladalen Landscape Protection Area, which was established along with the adjacent Jotunheim National Park in 1980 and covers about . A blues concert is held at Avdalen each year in June. It has become increasingly popular. The Årdal mountain touring club maintains a staffed lodge at the formeAvdal farm(). The Avdal farm was first occupied in 16th century and was vacated in 1962. The farm is located above the magnificent Avdalsfossen waterfall, about south of the Vetti farm. The farm has undergone a restoration, and currently provides meals as well as accommodation for tourists. Årdal is a municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located at the end of the Årdalsfjorden in the traditional district of Sogn. The village of Årdalstangen is the administrative center of the municipality. The other main village is Øvre Årdal. The municipality of Årdal was created in 1863 when it was separated from the municipality of Lærdal. Årdal is a modern industrial community, with ties to the old society of farming and fishing. Øvre Årdal is a village in Årdal Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is the larger of the two primary villages in Årdal. The village is situated at the northern end of the long lake Årdalsvatnet, with the village of Årdalstangen at the southern end. The village has a population (2019) of 3,117 and a population density of . Farnes Church is located in this village. The road ''Tindevegen'' goes from Øvre Årdal, through the Fardalen valley to the village of Turtagrø in Luster Municipality. It's one of the highest elevation roads in Norway. Utladalen (or ''Utladal'') is a valley in Årdal Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It stretches north from the village of Øvre Årdal into the neighboring Luster Municipality. The Avdalen and Fardalen valleys branch off of the main Utladalen valley. Utladalen is Norway's deepest valley. The main valley, when measuring from Øvre Årdal is long and is surrounded by dozens of mountain peaks that are all more than in height. From Øvre Årdal, a comfortable walking road has been constructed, funded by voluntary contributions. Vestland is a county in Norway established on 1 January 2020. The county is located in Western Norway and it is centred around the city of Bergen, Norway's second largest city. Vetti, Sogn Og Fjordane
Vetti (or ''Vetti Gard'') is an old farm area in the Utla valley (Utladalen) in Årdal Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located northeast of Øvre Årdal, along the Utla river and has likely been inhabited since 1120. From Vetti, there are two walking paths into the Utladalen Landscape Protection Area and the Jotunheimen National Park. One path goes to the waterfall Vettisfossen and the other one goes to an old mountain farm, Vettismorki, to the north. Vetti can be reached by foot or by horse-carriage from the nearby Hjelle farm, to the south.
