Rivers Cuomo ( ; born June 13, 1970) is an American musician best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter of the rock band Weezer. Cuomo was born in New York City and raised in several Buddhist communities in the northeastern U.S. until the age of 10 when his family settled in Connecticut. He played in several bands in Connecticut and California before forming Weezer in 1992. After the success of Weezer's debut, the ''Blue Album'' (1994)'','' Cuomo enrolled at Harvard University, but dropped out after recording Weezer's second album, ''Pinkerton'' (1996). He later re-enrolled and graduated in 2006. Though ''Pinkerton'' is now frequently cited among the best albums of the 1990s and has been certified platinum, it was initially a commercial and critical failure, pushing Cuomo's songwriting toward pop music for Weezer's next album, the '' Green Album'' (2001). Rock Am Ring And Rock Im Park
The (German for "Rock at the Ring") and ("Rock in the Park") festivals are two simultaneous rock music festivals held annually in Germany. While ''Rock am Ring'' takes place at the Nürburgring race track, ''Rock im Park'' takes place at the Zeppelinfeld in Nuremberg. Rock am Ring festival was founded by in 1985. The two festivals are usually regarded as one event sharing nearly identical lineups. All artists perform one day at the Nürburgring and another day in Nuremberg during the three-day event. ''Weezer'' (commonly known as the ''Blue Album'') is the debut studio album by the American rock band Weezer, released on May 10, 1994, by DGC Records. It was produced by Ric Ocasek of the Cars. Weezer formed in Los Angeles in 1992, and initially struggled to engage audiences, who were more interested in grunge. The band recorded a demo, ''The Kitchen Tape'', which brought them to the attention of DGC owner Geffen Records. Weezer selected Ocasek to produce because of his work with the Cars. Most of the album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York City between August and September 1993. The group treated the guitars and bass as a single, 10-string instrument, playing in unison. ''Odyssey of Iska'' is the fourteenth studio album by American jazz composer and saxophonist Wayne Shorter, released on Blue Note Records in 1971. Musicians include guitarist Gene Bertoncini, bassists Ron Carter and Cecil McBee and drummer Billy Hart, along with multiple percussionists. History and concept ''Odyssey of Iska'' was the outcome of the second recording session with Shorter that was produced by Duke Pearson. Wayne Shorter (August 25, 1933 – March 2, 2023) was an American jazz saxophonist, composer and bandleader. Shorter came to mainstream prominence in 1959 upon joining Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers, for whom he eventually became the primary composer. In 1964 he joined Miles Davis' Second Great Quintet, and then co-founded the jazz fusion band Weather Report in 1970. He recorded more than 20 albums as a bandleader. Scott Murphy (born February 11, 1979) is an American musician and singer-songwriter. He is best known for his work as bassist, vocalist, and songwriter in the pop punk band Allister, as well as his solo work released through Universal Music, and his collaboration with Weezer frontman and vocalist Rivers Cuomo through the name Scott & Rivers. Scott is also currently bassist/ vocalist for the Japanese band MONOEYES. Career Allister Scott Murphy began playing with pop punk band Allister on bass and vocals in 1998. ''Weezer'' (also known as the ''Green Album'') is the third studio album by American rock band Weezer. It was released on May 15, 2001, by Geffen Records. It was the second Weezer album produced by Ric Ocasek, who produced their debut album, and it is the only studio album to feature bassist Mikey Welsh (who replaced Matt Sharp), as he left the band a few months after the album's release. After the mixed critical reception and underwhelming sales of their second album, ''Pinkerton'' (1996), Weezer went on hiatus and the band members worked on side projects.
