It was established in 1950 at the same time as the origins of the Formula One, Formula One World Championship. Gregor Grant
Gregor J. Grant was born in 1911. He attended the Glasgow School of Art and soon was contributing articles, drawings, and caricatures to newspapers and magazines including The Light Car. He was injured in Normandy during World War II. In August 1950 he founded ''Autosport'' magazine which he edited until his death in 1969. ''Autosport'' was significant in being a weekly devoted almost entirely to motorsport, at a time when other publications were monthly or only partly reported competition. The timing was perfect as the British motor racing scene was growing rapidly, notably the new Formula 3, based on the British 500 cc Formula. Autosport International is a four-day motorsport event that includes a two-day trade show for industry professionals and a two-day public show. It is held at the National Exhibition Centre, NEC, in Birmingham, United Kingdom and operated by Motorsport Network, usually in the second week of January. Nigel Roebuck
Nigel Scott Roebuck (born March 1946) is an English journalist. Since 1971, he has reported on Formula One, and is considered one of the sport's most influential writers. From 2007 to 2016, he was editor-in-chief of ''Motor Sport'' magazine. Roebuck was educated at Giggleswick School in North Yorkshire, also the alma mater of Keith Duckworth, another well-known figure in Formula One. He wrote freelance articles for many publications, as well as being Press Officer for the Embassy Hill team in 1975. At the same time, he was writing for ''Autosport'' magazine and became their Grand Prix correspondent in 1976.
