Motorways in Serbia are called ''auto-put'' ( sr-Cyrl, ауто-пут), a name which simply means ''car-road''. Roads that are motorways are categorized as state roads of IA category and are marked with one or two digit numbers. Motorways in Serbia have three lanes in each direction (including hard shoulder), signs are white-on-green, and the normal speed limit is (since June 2018). They are maintained and operated by the national road operator company JP "Putevi Srbije" ("Roads of Serbia"). As of February 2025, there are of motorways in service (excluding Kosovo). A controlled-access highway is a type of highway that has been designed for high-speed vehicular traffic, with all traffic flow—ingress and egress—regulated. Ruma
Ruma (; ) is a town and municipality in the Srem District of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Serbia. As of 2022, the town has a population of 27,747, while the municipality has a population of 48,621. History Traces of organized human life on the territory of Ruma municipality date back as far as prehistory. The most important archaeological locality in the municipality is Bronze Age Gomolava near Hrtkovci, with two exclusive tombs of Bosut culture dating to the 9th century BC and 3000BC Vučedol culture pottery. Gornji Milanovac
Gornji Milanovac ( sr-Cyrl, Гoрњи Милановац, ) is a town and municipality located in the Moravica District of central Serbia. The population of the town is 23,109, while the population of the municipality is 38,985 (2022 census data). The town was founded in 1853. Before 1859 the original name of the town was Despotovica ( sr-Cyrl, Деспотовица), after the Despotovica river passing by the town. In 1859 the name was changed to Gornji Milanovac at the request of the Prince of Serbia Miloš Obrenović.
