The Autopista AP-8 is a toll '' autopista'' in the north of Spain, crossing the Basque Country from east to west. It is known as the , ) and connects the French border with Bilbao via San Sebastián, Zarautz, Eibar and Durango. At Bilbao the AP-8 continues as the toll-free Autovía A-8, which runs along the Spanish northern coast to Gijón and eventually the region of Galicia. The first section of the AP-8 opened in 1971 between Amorebieta and Basauri. It was finished in 1976, with the opening of the international connection to the A63 autoroute in France. Hernani, Spain
Hernani is a town and municipality located in the province of Gipuzkoa, Basque Autonomous Community, Spain. The town sits on the left bank of the Urumea river. It is located at a distance of 9.2 km from San Sebastián. Pasaia () is a town and municipality located in the province of Gipuzkoa in the Basque Autonomous Community of northern Spain. It is a fishing community, commercial port and the birthplace of the famous admiral Blas de Lezo and of the fashion designer Paco Rabanne. Oiartzun
Oiartzun (, ) is a town and municipality located in the Basque Country, in the province of Gipuzkoa lying at the foot of the massif Aiako Harria (Peñas de Aya in Spanish). Etymology The name traces back to ''Oiasso'' or ''Oiarso'', a Roman town closely connected to the ''Arditurri'' mines in the massif of Aiako Harria, which contained large amounts of silver and copper. However, it has been pinpointed to the current border town of Irun, so the name may have referred to the whole area. Hondarribia (; ; ) is a Spanish town situated on the west shore of the Bidasoa river's estuary, in Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country (autonomous community), Basque Autonomous Community. The border town is situated on a little promontory facing Hendaye (France) over the Txingudi bay. A service boat makes the trip between the two. The town has an ancient old quarter with walls and a castle.
