The Go Bowling 250 was a NASCAR Xfinity Series stock car race that took place at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia in the month of September. It is held the night before the NASCAR Cup Series race, the Federated Auto Parts 400. Noah Gragson won the 2021 race which was the last year it was run. In 2018, as part of schedule realignment, the event became the first race of the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs. In 2020, as part of schedule realignment, this became the only Xfinity Series race at the track as NASCAR decided to give the track one Truck Series race instead. This schedule change was done in a swap with Martinsville Speedway, which previously had two Truck Series races and zero Xfinity Series races and would now have one Truck Series race and one Xfinity Series race (which replaced the spring race at Richmond). Richmond Raceway (RR) is a , ''D''-shaped, asphalt race track located just outside Richmond, Virginia in unincorporated Henrico County. It currently hosts one NASCAR Cup Series race weekend and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. The Clean Harbors 250 is a NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Richmond Raceway. The race was initially held from 1995 to 2005 before being removed from the schedule in 2006. The race returned to the Truck Series schedule 14 years later in 2020. In the race's first stint on the Truck Series schedule, it was 200 laps. When it returned in 2020, the distance was 250 laps. In 2020, NASCAR removed the spring Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway in favor of a race at Richmond Raceway in the spring. This schedule change was done in a swap with Martinsville, which previously had two Truck Series races and zero Xfinity Series races and would now have one Truck Series race and one Xfinity Series race. Tommy Ellis
Tommy Ellis (born August 8, 1947) is an American former stock car racing driver who competed in the 1970s and 1980s. Often referred to as "Terrible" Tommy Ellis for his rough tactics, he won the last national late model sportsman championship in 1981, the final year before the format changed from "points chasing" late model sportsman racing at various short tracks across the country (now known as the Whelen All-American Series) to the current touring format, currently known as the Xfinity Series, the next year. Clay Morgan Shepherd (born October 12, 1941) is an American former professional stock car racing driver and current team owner. He last competed part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 89 Chevrolet Camaro for Shepherd Racing Ventures. He is a born again Christian who serves as a lay minister to the racing community. He competed in NASCAR for over 50 years, having one of the longest careers in the sport. Emanuel Zervakis (January 23, 1930 – June 25, 2003) was an American NASCAR driver and team owner. He won two NASCAR Grand National Series races in his career, both in 1961 ( Greenville 200 and Yankee 500). He later went on to own a part-time Cup team and a successful Busch Series team, receiving five Busch wins as an owner, four with Butch Lindley and one with Ricky Rudd. Career Driver He started in 83 NASCAR Cup races between 1956 and 1963 and finished in the top ten in points twice. He started his first race at Daytona Beach in 1956, finishing last in a field of 76 cars. Clyde J. "Butch" Lindley Jr. (March 25, 1948 – June 6, 1990) was an American short track racer. He was the champion of the NASCAR Sportsman Division in 1977 and 1978. Early life and start of career Clyde Lindley Jr., nicknamed Butch, was born in Greenville, South Carolina on March 25, 1948. He began racing as a boy and pursued it as a full-time career from his late teens. Lindley established himself as one of the country's premier short track drivers, winning track championships at Greenville-Pickens Speedway, and finishing first in races at short tracks throughout the United States.
