Austin Odhiambo Otieno (born 16 December 1999 in Siaya) is a Kenyan attacking midfielder currently in the ranks of Kenyan Premier League side Gor Mahia FC, and the Kenya's national team, Harambee Stars. He formerly turned out for AFC Leopards, and has been part of the Kenya U20, and U23 sides. On 26 July 2024, he was named the 2023–24 Kenyan Premier League Most Valuable Player. Siaya
Siaya is a municipality and the capital of Siaya County, Kenya. It is located northwest of Kisumu. The urban center had a population of 33,153 in 2019. Siaya municipality has five wards: Mjini, Siaya Central, Siaya East, Siaya North and Siaya West. All of them are part of Alego Constituency. With the new constitution, it is now in Siaya County of which it is the headquarters. Kenyan Premier League
The Kenyan Premier League (KPL), officially known as the FKF Premier League, is a professional league for men's football clubs in Kenya. Standing at the top of the Kenyan football league system, the league was formed in 1963 under the Kenya Football Federation but is now controlled by the Football Kenya Federation. It is contested by 18 clubs and operates on a promotion and relegation system with the Kenyan National Super League. Gor Mahia are the current champions having won the 2023–24 season. The league was mostly stable until the late 1990s and since then its performance had been considered below average, with many of the league's clubs having little or no finances to support themselves. Gor Mahia Football Club (), commonly known as is a professional football club based in Nairobi, Kenya. They have won the Kenyan Premier League a record 21 times, and have also won the FKF President's Cup a record 11 times. It is the first and only team from Kenya to win an African continental title to date, having won the African Cup Winners' Cup in 1987 after previously reaching the final in 1979. 2024 COSAFA Cup
The 2024 COSAFA Cup was the 23rd edition of the annual association football competition organized by COSAFA. It was held in South Africa for the seventh straight year, this time in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth), from 26 June to 7 July 2024. Zambia were the defending champions, but were eliminated in the group stage. Participating nations Twelve nations featured in the 2024 edition of the tournament. Two COSAFA members, Madagascar and Mauritius, did not participate. Zimbabwe returned to the tournament for the first time since the 2021 edition following its FIFA ban. Despite originally being announced as a participant, Malawi withdrew from the tournament prior to the group draw out of respect for eight victims of a plane crash earlier that week. Gor () is the fictional setting for a series of sword and planet novels written by philosophy professor John Lange, writing as John Norman. The setting was first described in the 1966 novel ''Tarnsman of Gor''. The series is inspired by science fantasy pulp fiction works by Edgar Rice Burroughs, such as the ''Barsoom'' series. It also includes erotica and philosophical content. The Gor series repeatedly depicts men abducting and physically and sexually brutalizing women, who grow to enjoy their submissive state.
