Schedule and results Exhibition Matches The Austin Aztex began their inaugural season as a professional team by playing 4 MLS teams in preseason exhibition matches. The first three games were held in Austin at Nelson Field while the fourth MLS match was in Rio Tinto Stadium on the MLS opening weekend. Austin Aztex
The Austin Aztex were a soccer team based in Austin, Texas, United States. Founded in 2011 as a member of the Premier Development League, the team played the 2015 season in the United Soccer League, the second tier of the United States soccer pyramid. This was the second team to carry the name Austin Aztex; the first were founded in 2008 and relocated to Orlando in 2010, with that ownership group eventually being awarded an MLS franchise of the same name in that city. The 'new' Aztex played their home games at the 6,500-seat House Park just west of the downtown Austin core, until that stadium was severely damaged by the 2015 Memorial Day floods; for the remainder of that season, they played at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex. Michael Dellorusso (born August 22, 1983 in White Plains, New York) is an American former professional soccer player. Career College Dellorusso grew up in Columbia, Maryland, attended Wilde Lake High School, and played college soccer at the University of Maryland, College Park from 2001–05. He appeared in 93 games over four seasons, scoring 2 goals and assisting on 20. He was named team captain his junior and senior seasons. During his college years he also played in the USL Premier Development League for Chesapeake Dragons. Professional Dellorusso was drafted in the fourth round, 42nd overall, of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas. Mike Chabala
Michael Shaun Chabala (born May 24, 1984) is an American former soccer player. Career Chabala played college soccer at the University of Washington, and also played with in the USL Premier Development League with both Yakima Reds and his hometown team, Fresno Fuego. Professional Chabala was drafted in the fourth round (44th overall) of the 2006 MLS SuperDraft by Houston Dynamo. He was loaned to Portland Timbers of the USL First Division during his first year with the Dynamo, making nine appearances. Having spent two years with Dynamo's reserves (where he made 24 starts and registered 12 assists, leading the MLS Reserve Division in 2007), Chabala finally made his full professional debut for Dynamo on July 10, 2007, in a US Open Cup third-round game against Charleston Battery. Ryan Caugherty (born September 23, 1982 in Seoul) is a Korean-born American soccer player, currently retired. Career Youth and College Caugherty grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and attended Penn Hills High School, where he was named Section Player of the Year, All-WPIAL, All-State, and All-American. Caugherty played for the Region 1 ODP team along with attending the ESP camp. He played club soccer for Penns Forest and Pittsburgh Beadling, respectively, leading the latter to the national championships his senior year. Caugherty played college soccer at Wake Forest University from 2001 to 2004. Playing left and right defender his freshman season to gain playing time, Caugherty saw a permanent move to the midfield in his sophomore season starting all eighteen games in which he appeared, missing only three due to injury. Michael Benjamin Callahan (born January 7, 1987) is an American soccer player and coach. Career Youth and amateur Callahan was born in Red Bank, New Jersey. He grew up in Cary, North Carolina and attended Green Hope High School. He played college soccer at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was named to the ACC's All-Freshman Team in 2005, was named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll in his freshman, sophomore and junior years, and earned All-ACC and All-American honors in 2008. Kyle Brown (born August 10, 1983 in Southlake, Texas) is an American soccer player, currently without a club. Career College and amateur Brown attended Carroll High School, and played college soccer for the University of Tulsa from 2001 to 2005, receiving All-Conference honors in all four years he played. Throughout his career at Tulsa he appeared in 77 games, scoring 38 goals and notching 28 assists. During his college years, Brown also played for three seasons in the USL Premier Development League, for Texas Spurs, Boulder Rapids Reserve and Chicago Fire Premier. Professional Brown was selected in the third round, 35th overall in the 2006 MLS Superdraft by the New England Revolution, making 12 appearances for the team, before being traded to Real Salt Lake during the 2007 MLS Superdraft. Kieron Bernard (born 2 August 1985) is a former Jamaican footballer last playing for Orlando City in the USL Professional Division. Career Youth and amateur Bernard attended Jonathan Grant High School in Jamaica where he was a multi-sport athlete, playing basketball and running track in addition to playing soccer. He briefly played for Cooreville Gardens as a youth and Portmore United in the Jamaica National Premier League before moving to the United States in August 2007 to attend San Jacinto College. At San Jacinto Bernard established himself as an outstanding junior college soccer player; he was a 2007 second team NJCAA All American and, in 2008, helped San Jacinto to the semifinals of the NJCAA national championship. Westley David Allen (born September 17, 1986, in Austin, Texas) is an American soccer player. Career Youth and amateur Allen grew up in Austin, Texas, attended L. C. Anderson High School, and played college soccer at Oakland University, where he earned Third Team All-American Honors as a freshman. Undrafted out of college, Allen played for the University of Texas club team, and played for Austin Aztex U23 in the USL Premier Development League in 2008. Professional Allen signed with Austin Aztex of the USL First Division for the 2009 season, and made his debut for the team on May 29, 2009, in a game against Puerto Rico Islanders. He was released by the Aztex at the end of the 2009 season, but re-signed prior to the 2010 season. Joshua Vincent "Josh" Alcala (born January 5, 1984, in Austin, Texas) is an American–born soccer player of Filipino and Hispanic descent. He is currently a free agent.
