Aurimas Adomavičius (born 23 September 1993) is a Lithuanian rower. At the 2016 European Championships, he won silver with the Lithuanian quadruple sculls team. Rowing, often called crew American English, in the United States, is the sport of racing boats using Oar (sport rowing), oars. It differs from paddling sports in that rowing oars (called blades in the United Kingdom) are attached to the boat using Rowlock, rowlocks, while paddles are not connected to the boat. Rowing is divided into two disciplines: sculling and sweep rowing. In sculling, each rower (or oarsman) holds two oars, one in each hand, while in sweep rowing each rower holds one oar with both hands. 2018 European Rowing Championships
The 2018 European Rowing Championships were rowing championships for European members of the International Rowing Federation (FISA) plus Israel. They were held as part of a new multi-sport European Championships at the Strathclyde Country Park near Motherwell, Scotland. Background 2018 was the first time that the European Rowing Championships, first held in 1893, were being held in Scotland. Competitions were being held in 17 boat classes with both lightweight and open weight events. Nearly 500 rowers were participating.
