Augšdaugavas NSS, previously Ilūkstes NSS, is a Latvian football club located in Ilūkste. The club played its home matches at the Ilūkstes pilsētas stadions with capacity of 300 people. History The club was founded in 1988 as ''Zemgale Ilūkste''. It took part in the Latvian SSR Higher League, finishing 13th in its debut season. In 1989, just one year after foundation, the club's name was changed to ''Vārpa Ilūkste'', and they finished the league in the 14th position. The 1990 season saw ''Vārpa Ilūkste'' achieve its best result until then – the 10th position in the league table. In 1991 the club's name was changed to ''Vārpa Dilar'', which was shortened to ''Dilar'' in 1992 . In 1991 they finished the league in the 7th position, but after the collapse of the Soviet Union earned a place in the newly formed Latvian Higher League for the 1992 season. Aleksandrs Jelisejevs (born 11 August 1971) is a Latvian football coach and a former international striker. He is the manager of the Latvia national under-16 team. He obtained a total number of 37 caps for the Latvia national football team, scoring four goals. He also played in Finland, Hungary, Russia and Israel during his career. Latgale
Latgale ( ltg, Latgola; ; ger, Lettgallen; be, Латгалія, Łathalija; pl, Łatgalia; la, Lettgallia), also known as Latgalia is one of the Historical Latvian Lands. The Latvian Football Cup () is the main knockout cup competition in Latvian football. Since 2021, its full name is Responsible Game Latvian Football Cup (''Atbildīgas spēles Latvijas kauss'') due to the sponsorship by sports betting company William Hill. The tournament was launched in 1937, replacing the previous knockout tournament – the Riga Football Cup. The competition is a knockout (single elimination) tournament. From 1937 to 2008 and again since 2017, all of the games of the tournament are played within the year. During the Soviet occupation ( 1940–1941, 1944–1991) it served as a qualification tournament for the Soviet Cup. Ritus Krjauklis
Ritus Krjauklis (born 23 April 1986) is a Latvian footballer who currently plays for Latvian Higher League club Daugavpils as a centre back. Club career As a child and teenager, Ritus Krjauklis played for his local club FK Ilūkste under coach Vladimirs Vinokurovs from 1993 till 2002. In 2002, he moved to Daugavpils and continued playing for Dinaburg Daugavpils youth team. In 2005 Krjauklis was taken to the first team by Tamaz Pertia. In 2006 Krjauklis was signed by FK Ventspils but he couldn't prove his abilities there so he had to move back to Daugavpils just one year later. He spent the next 3 seasons there, from 2007 to 2009 respectively, and managed to become a vital player at the club, playing 77 matches and scoring 6 goals during those 3 seasons. Jurijs Žigajevs (born 14 November 1985) is a Latvian former football player who made 31 appearances for the Latvia national team. Club career Born in the then Leningrad, Russia Žigajevs moved to Latvia at a young age. In his youth he played for FK Ilūkste and later FK Zibens Zemessardze. In 2002, he signed a professional contract with FK Rīga, playing in the Latvian Higher League. He played there for 6 years, until 2008, making 118 appearances and scoring 17 goals. After, the club's bankrupt Žigajevs signed a contract with another Latvian Higher League club FK Ventspils. He spent 2 seasons there, playing 46 matches and scoring 24 goals. Andris Vaņins
Andris Vaņins (born 30 April 1980) is a Latvian former professional footballer who works as a goalkeeping coach for Swiss club FC Sion. A goalkeeper, he most notably played for Sion, making over 200 league appearances. At international level, he earned 100 caps for the Latvia national team. Club career Ventspils Vaņins started his professional football career in 1997, when he was only 17 years old. His first club was FK Ventspils.
