August Blues Festival ( et, Augustibluus) is a blues music festival held in Haapsalu, Estonia since 1994. The festival takes place mainly inside the walls of Haapsalu Castle. It is the biggest blues festival in the Baltic states. Besides Estonian blues musicians, there have been guests from United States and elsewhere. Artur Menezes
Artur Menezes (born July 14, 1997) is a Brazilian blues and blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter. He has released five albums since 2010, with the most recent, ''Fading Away'' (2020), being released by Vizztone Records. That same year, Menezes got his Green Card granted by the US government, specifically because of his contribution to the blues. Life and career He was born in Brazil and was interested in music as a young child. His first interest was rock, spurred on by his elder brother. His outlook changed when he was around 13 years old and able to play the electric guitar. He experienced a different sounding track on the radio and discovered he had heard blues for the first time. Haapsalu
Haapsalu () is a seaside resort town located on the west coast of Estonia. It is the administrative centre of Lääne County, and on 1 January 2020 it had a population of 9,375. Lance Lopez (born September 30, 1977) is an American blues rock and Texas blues singer, guitarist, and songwriter. Lopez has been influenced by Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Jeff Beck has described Lopez as "a very exciting and intense blues guitarist". Lopez has spoken over the years about being mentored by both Billy Gibbons and Johnny Winter. Blues is a music genre and musical form which originated in the Deep South of the United States around the 1860s. Duke Robillard
Michael John "Duke" Robillard (born October 4, 1948) is an American guitarist and singer. He founded the band Roomful of Blues and was a member of the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Although Robillard is known as a rock and blues guitarist, he also plays jazz and swing. Career He played in bands as Mike "Honey Bear" Robillard and worked for the Guild Guitar Company. In 1967, he and Al Copley founded the band Roomful of Blues. He spent over ten years with Roomful of Blues before departing in 1979, becoming the guitarist for singer Robert Gordon and then a member of the Legendary Blues Band. He started the Duke Robillard Band in 1981, eventually adopting the name Duke Robillard and the Pleasure Kings, with whom he toured throughout the 1980s and recorded for Rounder Records. Eric Gales (born October 29, 1974), also known as Raw Dawg, is an American blues rock guitarist, originally hailed as a child prodigy. , Gales has recorded nineteen albums for major record labels and has done session and tribute work.
