Audubon Mountain is an mountain summit in Alaska, United States. Description Audubon Mountain is located north-northwest of Valdez in the Chugach Mountains. Chugach Mountains
The Chugach Mountains of southern Alaska are the northernmost of the several mountain ranges that make up the Pacific Coast Ranges of the western edge of North America. The range is about long and wide, and extends from the Knik and Turnagain Arms of the Cook Inlet on the west to Bering Glacier, Tana Glacier, and the Tana River on the east. It is bounded on the north by the Matanuska, Copper, and Chitina rivers. Mount Valhalla, elevation (12,135 ft), is a glaciated summit located northwest of Valdez in the Chugach Mountains of the U.S. state of Alaska. It's set on land managed by Chugach National Forest. This remote mountain, fourth-highest in the Chugach range, is situated northeast of Mount Witherspoon, and north of Mount Einstein. Tazlina Tower is an elevation glaciated summit located northwest of Valdez in the Chugach Mountains of the U.S. state of Alaska. This remote mountain is situated southeast of Mount Powder Top, and northeast of Pilot Peak, near the head of Tazlina Glacier, on land managed by Chugach National Forest. Tazlina Glacier
Tazlina Glacier is a long glacier in the U.S. state of Alaska. It begins 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north of Mount Cashman and Mount Shouplina then flows north to its terminus one mile (1.6 km) south of Tazlina Lake and 43 miles (69 km) north of Valdez. Tazlina Glacier is the largest northward flowing glacier in the Chugach Mountains. The terminus of the glacier is retreating and thinning. Orographic lift occurs when an air mass is forced from a low elevation to a higher elevation as it moves over rising terrain. John James Audubon (born Jean-Jacques Rabin, April 26, 1785 – January 27, 1851) was a French-American Autodidacticism, self-trained artist, natural history, naturalist, and ornithology, ornithologist. His combined interests in art and ornithology turned into a plan to make a complete pictorial record of all the bird species of North America.
