Audiovent
Audiovent is an American alternative rock band from Calabasas, California. Initially forming as "Vent" in the early 1990s, the band changed their name to Audiovent upon signing with Atlantic Records in 2001. The band released their one and only album on a major record label, ''Dirty Sexy Knights in Paris'', in 2002. Two singles were released to rock radio and charted with moderate success - "The Energy" and "Looking Down". The band began work on a second album in 2003, demoing over 19 tracks over the course of the year, but disbanded in mid-2004 before the album could be formally recorded, due to creative differences between band members. ''Dirty Sexy Knights in Paris'' is the only major label album by alternative rock band Audiovent. It was released in 2002 on Atlantic Records. The album had two singles, "The Energy" and " Looking Down". Audiovent toured with Saliva and Theory of a Deadman in promotion of the album. Background The band's origins trace back to the members attending middle school, when lead singer Jason Boyd began playing music with friend bassist Paul Fried. Looking Down
"Looking Down" is the second and final single from the debut and only major record label album, ''Dirty Sexy Knights in Paris'', by the alternative rock band Audiovent. The song appeared on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in 2002, peaking at no. 29, but was unable to match the top 10 performance of its predecessor, "The Energy", released earlier in the year. Agent Sparks
Agent Sparks was an American indie pop band formed in early 2005 when two former band mates from Audiovent decided they wanted to continue making music. Members include Benjamin Einziger (lead vocals, guitar), Stephanie Eitel (lead vocals, keyboard, percussion), Paul Fried (bass, vocals), and George Purviance (drums, vocals). They released their first EP entitled ''Not So Merry'' in September 2005. This EP included, "It's Not My Time," "Choke," and "So Long Darlings." On June 20, 2006 they released their first full-length album ''Red Rover.'' Both their EP and full length were produced by Ben's brother and Paul's stepbrother, Incubus guitarist Michael Einziger. The band later went on to tour with bands Thirty Seconds to Mars and Veruca Salt. Ryland Steen
Ryland Steen (born August 31, 1980) is an American drummer who was drummer for ska punk band Reel Big Fish from 2005 to 2014 and is the current drummer for soft rock band America since 2014. He has also performed with Maroon 5, Kris Allen, and Phantom Planet. Biography Steen was born in Lincoln Nebraska on August 31, 1980. His father is Dave Steen, a former member of the 1980s power pop band Hawks and brother to drummer Drew Steen. Steen began playing piano at the age of 6 and drums at 13. He moved to Orange County, California at age 19 in 2000, with pop/ fusion group Square, which also featured vocalist/keyboardist Sean Beste and future Maroon 5 guitarist, James Valentine. Square entered and won an Ernie Ball-sponsored band competition, where Steen met the ska punk band Reel Big Fish. Incubus (band)
Incubus is an American Rock music, rock band from Calabasas, California. The band was formed in 1991 by vocalist Brandon Boyd, lead guitarist Mike Einziger, and drummer José Pasillas while enrolled in Calabasas High School and later expanded to include bassist Alex Katunich, Alex "Dirk Lance" Katunich, and Gavin "DJ Lyfe" Koppel; the latter two were eventually replaced by bassist Ben Kenney and DJ Kilmore, respectively. Nicole Row replaced Kenney in 2024. Incubus has attained commercial success, reaching multi-platinum sales, as well as releasing several successful singles (music), singles.
