Andrew Miller (North Dakota Judge)
Andrew Miller (November 16, 1870 – March 17, 1960) was the North Dakota Attorney General from 1909 to 1914, and later served as a United States district judge of the United States District Court for the District of North Dakota. Education and career Miller was born in Denmark, emigrating to the United States with his parents when he was two years old. His early boyhood was spent in New York and Vermont. In 1880, he moved to Chickasaw County, Iowa, with his parents, and until 1894 followed the occupation of farming. In the spring of that year he read law in the office of A. C. Ripley, at Garner, Iowa. He was admitted to the bar in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1894, and in May of that year he opened an office for general practice at Buffalo Center, Iowa. In the fall of 1896 he was elected county attorney for Winnebago County, Iowa, and in January, 1897, moved to Forest City, Iowa, the county seat of Winnebago County. Robert Byron Miller
Robert Byron Miller (19 April 1825 – 5 October 1902) was a lawyer and politician in colonial Tasmania. Miller was born in London, England, the eldest son of Robert Miller, a barrister, and his wife Jane Matilde, ''née'' Montmorini. Miller had a younger brother, Maxwell Miller, who also became a Tasmanian politician. Miller was educated at private schools and King's College, London, and entered as a student at the Middle Temple in April 1843, and was called to the bar in January 1848. Miller decided to emigrate to Tasmania, arriving at Hobart Town in January 1855; he was admitted a barrister in the Supreme Court of Tasmania in August 1855. Having entered Parliament on 31 May 1861 as member for Launceston. Thomas John Miller (born August 11, 1944) is an American lawyer and politician who served as the 33rd Attorney General of Iowa from 1995 to 2023. After the defeat of West Virginia Attorney General Darrell McGraw in 2012 when running for reelection, Miller became the longest serving State Attorney General in the United States. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served in the same position from 1979 to 1991 as the state's 31st Attorney General. Miller's combined tenure of 40 years in office makes him the longest serving State Attorney General in United States history, having surpassed Frank J. Kelley's 37-year term of office as Michigan Attorney General; Kelley still holds the record for longest ''continuous'' tenure as an attorney general, having served from 1961 to 1999. Vern Miller (December 22, 1928 – June 11, 2021) was an American attorney, politician, and law enforcement officer who served as the Kansas attorney general from 1971 to 1975. Early life and education Miller was born in Wichita, Kansas in 1928. At three years old, his family moved to a 10-acre farm in the city, raising cows and selling milk. He attended primary schools there, and attended Wichita North High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Army at 17, turning 18 while he was posted to post-WWII U.S. occupation zone in Korea. After his service he attended Friends University. He later graduated from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1966, driving 310 miles round trip to attend night school.
