The attempted assassination of Hassan Sheikh Mohamud occurred on March 18, 2025, when Al-Shabaab (militant group), al-Shabaab militants targeted the President of Somalia, Somali president's convoy with a roadside bomb in Mogadishu, Somalia. The attack took place near the Villa Somalia presidential palace as President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Mohamud was en route to Aden Adde International Airport to oversee military operations against Al-Shabaab (militant group), al-Shabaab in the Middle Shabelle region. The president was unharmed in the attack.
