Ato Badolato
Edmundo "Ato" Badolato (December 30, 1946 – December 21, 2021) was a Filipino basketball coach and basketball executive. Career Coaching He led San Beda College (now San Beda University)'s high school team, the Red Cubs into multiple championships. Some of the PBA players played for him are Benjie Paras, Ronnie Magsanoc, Dindo Pumaren, as well as active players led by LA Tenorio, JVee Casio, and Baser Amer. He also served as head coach of the seniors team, the Red Lions, in 2001. Badolato later served as athletic director of San Beda. Philippine Secondary Schools Basketball Championship
Philippine Secondary Schools Basketball Championship (PSSBC) is an amateur basketball tournament participated by different high school basketball teams from the NCAA, UAAP and Filipino-Chinese leagues. PSSBC's mission is to provide an avenue for young basketball players to further hone their skills before they will advanced in the collegiate level. The PSSBC was founded in December 2012, by the Fil-Chinese owners of different brands, sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) and supported by Ever Bilena/Blackwater Elite, Rain or Shine, Freego, Jumbo Plastic Linoleum, MEC Networks, Hapee Toothpaste, Dickies Underwear, and Ironcon Builders. In 2016, the PSSBC has plans for further expansion, including inviting high school teams from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. On December 19, 2021, PSSBC Commissioner and long-time San Beda Red Cubs coach Edmundo "Ato" Badolato died due to heart attack. He was 74. UAAP Season 73 Men's Basketball Tournament
The UAAP Season 73 men's basketball tournament is the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP)'s men's basketball tournament for the 2010–11 season. The Ateneo Blue Eagles won against the FEU Tamaraws in the finals, winning in two games. Ateneo blew out FEU in the first game, and hanged on in the second game to clinch their third consecutive title. Ryan Buenafe, who scored a crucial three-point shot late in Game 2, was named Finals MVP. In the semifinals, FEU defeated the De La Salle Green Archers in overtime on their semifinal match-up, while Ateneo blew out the Adamson Falcons in the other semifinal. NCAA Season 85 Basketball Tournaments
The basketball tournaments of NCAA Season 85 refers to the basketball events of the Philippine National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA)'s 2009–10 season. This is the first season without the PCU Dolphins who have taken an indefinite leave of absence after several of their juniors' division players were found to have used falsified documents to enter the school. Also, three guest teams will take part in the basketball events with all three eligible to win championships.
