Atlantic Attack
The Atlantic Attack are a ringette team in the Canadian National Ringette League (NRL) that mostly consists of players from Atlantic Canada. The team competes in the Eastern Conference in the White division and was founded in 2011. The team's home arena is in Cocagne, New Brunswick. In their 7th season, the Atlantic Attack won their first National Ringette League Playoff title. Team history The Attack's inaugural season was in 2011–12. The first team roster was announced on September 21, 2011 and their first game in the league was played on October 15, 2011 against Gatineau Fusion. The first game in their home arena in Cocagne was played on February 5, 2012, against Le Royal de Bourassa. In their first season they made the Eastern Playoffs, but with two losses in two games did not continue to the 2011-12 NRL Championship, which is played by the eight best teams in the league. The National Ringette League (NRL), ''(french: Ligue Nationale de Ringuette, LNR)'', is the premier sports league for the sport of ringette in North America and Canada's national league for elite ringette players aged 18+. All of the NRL's elite athletes are women, one of ringette's distinctive features. The NRL is a semi-professional league which operates as a showcase league for the sport and is the first and only winter team sports league in North America whose entire elite athlete roster involves players who are women rather than men. The league's inaugural year was in November of 2004 and had completed seventeen seasons of play by the end of the 2021-22 season. Players are selected from the league to help form Canada's national ringette teams. The NRL functions as a committee under Ringette Canada, a non-profit sports organization and the national governing body of ringette in Canada. In ice hockey, point has three contemporary meanings. Personal stat A point is awarded to a player for each goal scored or assist earned. The total number of goals plus assists equals total points. Charlottetown
Charlottetown is the capital and largest city of the Canadian province of Prince Edward Island, and the county seat of Queens County. Edmonton WAM!
The Edmonton WAM! is a ringette team in the National Ringette League's (NRL) Western Conference. The team is one of two NRL teams based in Edmonton, Alberta, with the other being the Edmonton Black Gold Rush. Their other provincial rival is the Calgary RATH. Team history The WAM! were founded in 2004 at the same time as the NRL, which was first established in 2002, was moving towards playing its first season. It was not until 2007–08 that a proper National Ringette League division became a part of the annual Canadian Ringette Championships, but the WAM! found early success and won a national title representing Alberta in the Open Division at the 2007 national championships. Cambridge Turbos
The Cambridge Turbos is a ringette team in Canada's National Ringette League (NRL) competing in the Eastern Conference in the Red division. Founded in 2003, the is team based in Cambridge, Ontario. The Turbos home arena is the Hespeler Memorial Arena, a facility which is a twin sheet arena with two Olympic Sized sheets of ice (200'x100'). The team did not compete in the NRL Championships during the Covid-19 pandemic. The team acquired its name from a curious, exuberant, long-haired Syrian hamster, ( "teddy bear hamster") owned by former Turbos player, Corina Harris. Leduc, Alberta
Leduc ( ) is a city in the province of Alberta, Canada. It is south of the provincial capital of Edmonton and is part of the Edmonton Metropolitan Region. History Leduc was established in 1891, when Robert Telford, a settler, who had bought land, in 1889, near a lake which would later bear his name. It was on that piece of land where the new settlement would take root. Telford established a stopping place for the stagecoach line that in 1889 connected Calgary to Edmonton. It became known as Telford's Place. Telford previously served as an officer for the North-West Mounted Police, and later became Leduc's first postmaster, first general merchantman, and first justice of the peace.
