Tokyo National Stadium
The Japan National Stadium, officially the , alternatively , and a.k.a. formerly is a multi-purpose stadium used mostly for association football in Kasumigaokamachi, Kasumigaoka, Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. The facility served as the main stadium for the opening and closing ceremonies, as well as the venue for track and field athletics events at the 2020 Summer Olympics and 2020 Summer Paralympics in 2021. Tomoki Suzuki (athlete)
Tomoki Suzuki (, born 14 June 1994) is a Japanese wheelchair racer, who won the 2020, 2024 and 2025 Tokyo Marathons, came second at the 2015, 2018, 2021 and 2023 Tokyo Marathons, and came third at the 2017 Tokyo, 2019 and 2023 London Marathons. Suzuki and won a bronze medal in the mixed 4 × 100 metres relay at the 2020 Summer Paralympics, and a bronze medal in the marathon T54 event at the 2024 Summer Paralympics. He is currently running the 2025 London Marathon. Personal life Suzuki was born on 14 June 1994 in Tateyama, Chiba, Japan. At the age of eight months, Suzuki was involved in a car accident that left him with paraplegia. He now lives in Tokyo. Career Suzuki competed at the 2009 Asian Youth Para Games, whilst at middle school. Whilst in secondary school, he was coached by Paralympian Nobukazu Hanaoka. Athletics At The 2020 Summer Paralympics
Para-athletics, Athletics at the 2020 Summer Paralympics were held in the Japan National Stadium (2019), National Stadium in Tokyo. There was 167 medal events: 93 for men, 73 for women and one mixed event. It was the largest contest of the Games programme regarding athlete numbers and medal events to be scheduled. The 2020 Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. They kept the 2020 name and were instead held from 24 August to 5 September 2021. Brian Siemann
Brian Siemann (born October 7, 1989) is an American T53 wheelchair racer. Early life and education Siemann was born in Brooklyn, New York, and raised in Millstone, New Jersey. He attended Notre Dame High School in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. He then attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and majored in special education. He currently serves as a learning disabilities and ADHD specialist at his alma mater. Career Siemann made his international debut for the United States at the 2011 IPC Athletics World Championships. He represented the United States at the 2012 Summer Paralympics. Yoo Byung-hoon (born June 30, 1972) is a Paralympian athlete from South Korea competing mainly in category T53 middle-distance events. Career Yoo competed at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing. John Charles Smith (born 27 November 1989), known professionally as JohnBoy Smith, is a British parathlete and wheelchair racer of Romany descent who competes in the T54 category sprint events. Early life Smith was born in Gravesend, Kent, England. At age 16, he was mistaken for a poacher and shot in the back leading to a spinal cord injury that left him with complete T10/T11 paraplegia. He got motivated to pursue para-athletics and wheelchair racing after watching 2012 London Paralympics. Aaron Pike (born May 4, 1986) is an American athlete who competes in wheelchair racing, biathlon, and cross-country skiing. He has competed at the 2012, 2016 and 2020 Summer Paralympics, as well as the 2014, 2018 and 2022 Winter Paralympics. Pike finished second at the 2022 Boston Marathon, third at the 2021 and 2022 Chicago Marathons, and fourth at the 2018 and 2019 New York City Marathons as well as the 2021 Boston Marathon.
