Atelier Fontana - Le Sorelle Della Moda
''Atelier Fontana - Le sorelle della moda'' (Atelier Fontana - "The sisters of fashion") is an Italian television miniseries directed by Riccardo Milani and produced by Rai Fiction and Lux Vide, and broadcast premiered on Rai 1 in two evenings, on 27 and 28 February 2011. The three protagonists of the fiction are Alessandra Mastronardi, Anna Valle and Federica De Cola. The series is based on the life of the Sorelle Fontana, the three seamstresses of the province of Parma who became famous when in 1949 they made the wedding dress with which Linda Christian married Tyrone Power, Atelier became one of the most requested stylists by the Hollywood stars. Plot Zoe, Micol and Giovanna Fontana are three young sisters who, after a peaceful childhood, work all together in the tailoring that their mother leads into her own home of Traversetolo, a small center in the province of Parma. Riccardo Milani (born 15 April 1958) is an Italian film and television director and screenwriter. Life and career Born in Rome, Milani began his career in 1985, as assistant director of Mario Monicelli in ''Let's Hope It's a Girl''. After being assistant of Nanni Moretti, Florestano Vancini and Daniele Luchetti, in 1994 he made his feature film debut with the comedy-drama '' Auguri professore''. Micol Fontana (8 November 1913 – 12 June 2015) was an Italian stylist and entrepreneur, co-founder of the Sorelle Fontana fashion house. Biography Born in Traversetolo, Parma, Micol Fontana and her sisters Zoe and Giovanna moved to Rome in 1936 to launch a fashion career. They worked small jobs in the industry and finally opened their own shop, Casa di moda sorelle Fontana, in 1943. Gianni Cavina (9 December 1940 – 26 March 2022) was an Italian film actor. He appeared in more than 40 films from 1968 to 2022. Born in Bologna, Cavina trained as a stage actor at the Teatro Stabile di Bologna, under the direction of Franco Parenti.
