Atay Aktuğ
Atay Aktuğ, is the former president of the Turkish football club Trabzonspor. Career Atay was a player for Trabzonspor in the late sixties and early seventies. He was voted in as president after his predecessor Özkan Sümer suddenly resigned in August 2003. He was re-elected in December 2004. One of the main changes he has brought about is to list Trabzonspor on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, in the hope of raising funds for the club. Under his stewardship Trabzonspor has embarked on a series of tasks to raise marketing income through sponsorship and to create a large community of members throughout Turkey and Europe. Trabzonspor
Trabzonspor Kulübü is a Turkish sports club located in the city of Trabzon. Formed in 1967 through a merger of several local clubs, the men's football team has won seven Süper Lig championships. Trabzonspor also have a women's football team, and used to have a men's basketball team. Trabzonspor are one of the most decorated clubs in Turkey. They have won seven Süper Lig titles and were the first non Istanbul-based club to win the league. They also have won nine Federation Cup (Turkish Cup) titles. The club won their first championship title in 1975–76, and won three championship titles in a row in the 1978–79, 1979–80 and 1980–81. Özkan Sümer
Özkan Sümer (20 November 194022 December 2020) was a Turkish footballer and coach. He played as defender in Trabzonspor (and later coached the same club), Galatasaray SK, and the Turkey national football team. He also served as president of Trabzonspor. Career Footballer Sümer was born in Trabzon and started to play football in his home town's club of Trabzonspor. After some time at Karabükspor and Sebat Gençlik, Sümer re-joined Trabzonspor. He was a successful defender of his team. During this time, he earned the nickname "Deve" (literally: "Camel") due to his tallness and stubborn rough playing temperament.
